Thinking About You is the first single lifted from @Birdee's upcoming Disco Funkin' mix album which lands via the always excellent @Bombstrikes at the end of the month. Birdee has been building a huge reputation recently with chart topping releases across some of the finest labels out there including Midnight Riot, Vicious, Glitterbox, Tinted, Re-loved and many more.

Thinking About You is a perfect Summer disco single perfectly crafted for boat and pool parties alike with it's groove heavy bassline, chic-esque guitar licks and immediate and insanely catchy vocal loop. Legendary mix master & remixer John Morales makes his debut on Razor-N-Tape with two fresh soulful house reworks of Try Again by label boss JKriv featuring Phenomenal Handclap Band & Nic Hanson on vocals.

In true M+M fashion, John delivers both a main and alternate mix in which he reconstructs two unique extended arrangements. With his seasoned touch, Morales highlights elements of the original live instrumentation, laid over tough club-ready beats which allows the song to shine in an all new light.

So Fine is a track with a sweet disco sample workout, chunky walking bass, and left turns that are layered with stabs and drums that hit with surgical precision. Veev & Mucky Ebanz turn in a remix with bouncy bass, snappy handclaps, and  frenetic drums that all work together to bring the sample to full bloom.

Punching in on remix duty, Austro-American boogie don Rodney Hunter morphs the original into a straight out sensuous, soulful melter, inbound for extended use in the ballroom and a choice position in the bags of big room disco and house DJs out there. Carried by infectiously lush strings, congas, brass and hectic slap bass moves sprinkled with a fine coat of piano stabs for good measure, the track is an invitation to get down true-school style; and being presented in both short form and extended version, ideal for either hi-impact effect or lengthier sessions.

Halifax, Nova Scotia on Canada’s east coast is an unassuming place for a hotbed of House music, but it is fertile ground for beats and grooves that rival those that drive dancefloors anywhere in the world. It is here where a group of DJs and producers joined forces to bring Atlantic Standard Recordings to life in order to deliver that abundance of rhythm and soul to friends and fans. Originally started in 2005 by DJs Nick Nonsense and Chris Matheson with producer Dmitry “Deemah” Mescheryakov, ASR went on to release thirteen EPs between 2006 and 2009, garnering attention and respect from DJs and house music heads all over the world. After a few years away from the mixing desk for Nick and Chris, Dmitry remained busy building the profile of his most successful recording project thus far, Soledrifter, putting out over 50 releases on over a dozen labels. 
The arrival of 2017 breathes new life into ASR as new beginnings take the label in new directions with forthcoming release of new projects and collaborations. Halifax recording artist Veev, himself an established artist with a deep catalogue over a variety of house music’s best and most influential labels, joins the stable with a series of hot new tracks. Matheson’s recording alias Mucky Ebanz and Nick Nonsense both have been working in the studio and new music in the pipe slated for release this year. Expect new material from Soledrifter, as well as new collaborations and remixes from all four members of ASR and those by friends and colleagues all dropping in 2017 from Atlantic Canada’s home of house music.
