This is a collection of some scratch recordings and song ideas. There's plenty of fuck-ups. Plenty of not-fuck-ups. Most of these are unfinished. Under the, "Guitar and Bass Scratch Recordings" set they are in order from most to least important. 

I play guitar and bass (though it sounds like guitar) and am looking to play with other like-minded musicians. A drummer is priority right now, and an additional bassist/guitarist/vocalist would be great. If you can sing AND drum, I want you. As much I can help it, I'd like to be in a small roster band. I want to create a huge, full sound with 2-3 members. 

I don't care for recording at the moment. I'm interested in playing live and working hard to put together a powerful and engaging live set, played at irresponsible volumes.

Think of Neil Finn-esque Melodies with Mark Ronson arrangements e.g. Versions Album - combined with Air (Moon Safari) Keyboard sounds, quirky Dream-Pop a la Mac Demarco, nice harmonies & sometime unusual but groovy rhythms & definitely some 70's Bass Lines but with more of a MODERN EDGE to it! .. ..

So the sonic outcome of the LP is maybe going to sound a bit like Empire Of The Sun meets The Beatles meets Gorillaz meets Prince meets Daft Punk, although the main objective of SONiC DREAMiNG BOY is to create his own unique style! .. ..

SONiC DREAMiNG BOY is an artist who has not been afraid in approaching people with his music. He once sneaked into the Oscars and was able to hand over a demo to Quentin Tarantino. He says: “Once my music is finished I believe I can move mountains with it, I guess that determination and belief was the reason why I managed to sneak into the Oscars, which – belief me - is not an easy thing to do!” 

Adriano has moved to London from the German part of Switzerland; although he stresses that he is Italian. “I put everything, my guitar and music paraphernalia in my car and headed strait to London! I formed a band, gigged all over London and did a sound engineering course. .. ..

Adriano is writing ear-catching melodies with a distinctive tune that will stay with you for some time. “I try to write Songs when I'm inspired, cause I think inspiration is the most important thing in music! Maybe I'm cheesy - I guess it comes from my Italian roots, but I don't care - I am honest and it comes from my heart!” The style of music can be described as melodic, souly, funky-electronic pop with edges - the influences go from Prince to as far as Ennio Morricone! “I honestly can't just write in one style of music, that would be boring to me - I have an eclectic taste and I'm proud of it!” .. ..

Alchemy

I remember at a very early age, hopped up on tons of Anime, Star Wars, Robotech and assembling plastic mecha models, I wanted to be an aeronautical engineer. I dreamed of designing beautiful, fully functioning, modular aircrafts that could transport people to mysterious other worlds. 

Simply, I loved the idea of taking one thing and making them transmute into another form.  

As an eternal student of Music and Design, at a young age I was taken by the myriad of ways Art could be shaped: the way an 8 minute Zeppelin song could morph, to the way a Bosch painting could rant about the human condition without a single word or the way the static from switching TV channels or radio stations could sing the most beautiful untold secrets about the Universe. But like the latter, the most captivating melodies and phrases I heard were the random ones made by objects in my environment. As a kid, you’re taught automobiles, fax machines, insects chirping, garage doors, the wind, waves or animals fighting is not music…I disagreed whole heartedly.  

With my older musician brother’s instruments lying around the house, I passionately landed on guitar and loved how the strings sustained in a soothing way, yet also, how beautifully violent it is crashing upon them when played through an amp with the right kind of distortion.

Being a self-taught musician, I was very passionate about absorbing phrases and riffs that I manically wore out cassette tapes or broke turntable needles replaying endlessly parts of certain albums to figure how to play them.
Exploring phrases quickly moved from being fascination to full blown obsessions. Rare Groove and early Funk (Hancock, Cymande, Meters, Fela Kuti) played a huge role in my understanding of how the pentatonic scale could be sparse yet rhythmically intentional in tight grooves that snake their way around space, “ghost notes” and syncopation. My brother’s BeBop albums were abundant and rather than just studying guitarists, the shapes I loved figuring out were the brass runs and noise bursts of Monk, Coleman, Davis, Goodman or Basie, as fodder for breeding interesting guitar lines. But then synthesizers, samplers and Hip Hop turntablism came along and the 70’s and 80’s were exploding with new possibilities! The ways analog and digital pioneers of Trip Hop, Techno, IDM, Krautrock and Industrial were phrasing things, I grew more insatiable. Loops and short phrase samples were fertile ground for collaging for a young teen never knowing the rules or limitations of guitars and FX pedals! I loved how Modular Synthesis is definitely one type of alchemy, but I wanted to explore further how guitar could be a brilliant platform for transcending sound beyond the modern understanding of what the instrument can do and other roles it could play. I became fascinated with certain designs of vintage guitars in discovering how the "acoustics” of amplified instruments could be resources for percussion or ambience when channeled deeper through effects pedals. Manipulating sound through modified digital and analog effects in absurd, heretical ways, cultured new relationships in sonic dynamics and a whole different instrument could be born! 

The aeronautical engineer dream didn't end up panning out the way I initially imagined, especially after I found out it how much schooling, math and time it would take. So I committed myself to THE NEXT BEST THING to achieve the same goal: MUSIC. I continue to cultivate interesting ways to transport the audience to different dimensions and planes, effectively transmuting base amplified instruments into sonic gold.

Growing up in Berlin and Hamburg the two brothers Julius and Lucas Fischötter discovered their passion for music while learning to play the classical guitar and piano starting at the age of 10.

After playing in various bands they founded SONIC MOBILÉE in 2010, inspired by British rock music, the electronic music scene and the heritage of their grandfathers compositions in Jazz and Film music.

Led by their love for vintage sounds and modern music production SONIC MOBILÉE use instruments like a 1973 Fender Rhodes stage piano and electric guitars for their performances and back it up with an electronic live set.

SONIC MOBILÉE released their debut record called SOMO EP in September 2013, including a music video for the song PRAY, starring the two of them playing the same person, being torn apart between reality and dream, self-control and subconsciousness.

Los Angeles based band, The Sonic Universe is fronted by international recording and performing artist, Alex Arndt, a Virginia Tech graduate originally from the Washington D.C. area.  Arndt has toured and performed in over a dozen countries worldwide including Ireland, Netherlands, Japan, Peru, and Australia. He was featured at one of the largest electronic music festivals with 150,000+ strong crowd, Ultra Music Festival at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul, Korea with DJ, Amanda Darling. In addition, The Sonic Universe has performed at other festivals such as SXSW (Austin, TX), Summerfest (Milwaukee, WI), NAMM Show (Anaheim, CA), Malibu Music Awards (Malibu, CA), Cosmic Convergence (Panajachel, Guatemala), Synthesis Festival (Chichen Itza pyramid, Mexico) and dozens more. Arndt’s deep and rich vocals seem to be somewhat nostalgic of the legendary David Bowie with a style that echoes hints of Mick Jagger and Steven Tyler.  The Sonic Universe has been pushing the boundaries of genre by combining elements of Rock, Pop and Electronic Dance Music (EDM) into an electrifying sound that is thrilling audiences. With their new anthemic high-vibe Pock/Rock EP releasing in 2020, The Sonic Universe is poised to extend their reach to new USA and international audiences.

"The Sonic Universe," formerly "Alex Arndt & The Sonic Universe" has always been a strong force for positivity with songs like “Oh Zalika” (on “Sonic Paradigm” album), used for a hungry children project; “Strength Through Peace,” used as USA presidential campaign theme song for peace; “Swallowed in the Pocket,” a song about drug addiction written for the hollywood feature movie “In My Pocket”; “Plastic Soup,” a song in connection with marine environmental organizations concerning the critical plastic problem in our oceans; and an EP called “Animal Compassion” which was performed at global conferences and has had years of international television coverage.

In a dark kitchen in the middle of a sweaty night in Las Vegas, all 6’4” of Dan Reynolds is hunched over a laptop, slapping beats on the table and crooning lyrics into a tiny microphone. Before long, he and the other three members of indie rock band Imagine Dragons would be playing “It’s Time,” that same laptop-demo-turned-supersized-anthem, from the roof of a parking garage to a wave of thousands of screaming fans. This song title to the single from their 2012 debut KidInaKorner/Interscope release “Continued Silence EP” is an all too apt descriptor of the band’s hard-earned success—but it’s also emblematic of the deep-seated anxiety Reynolds and the rest of the band experienced leaving behind any realistic expectation of a normal job to do the thing they love most.

A third-generation Las Vegas native, Reynolds is no stranger to the adage “the house always wins,” choosing to pave his musical career with a near obsessive work ethic and hundreds of unused demos rather than roll the dice with the first songs that sprung from his mouth. It’s no surprise, then, that he was drawn to guitarist Wayne Sermon, another founding member of Imagine Dragons. Having practically grown up in a recording studio and graduated Berklee College of Music, Wayne had been practicing his guitar through meals and other socially inappropriate situations as long as he could remember; he challenged Dan in a way that was both uncomfortable and exactly what they both needed. When they began writing songs together and recognized something special was happening, Wayne called up his Berklee friend Ben McKee, who promptly dropped out of school with only a few credits left, moving across the country to play bass for the band. This sort of reckless/genius behavior is typical for Ben, who has an uncanny penchant for spicy food and a suitcase full of unbelievable road stories. More recently, the band was joined by drummer Daniel Platzman, another Bostonian schoolmate who seems way too nice to be playing rock and roll until you actually see him in action.

Several tours and three self-released EPs later, Imagine Dragons had made a serious name for itself, particularly in the west coast circuit. Although their songs vary from nearly whimsical and light to brooding and powerful, listeners are drawn to the inherent honesty in the music. The only rule of thumb for the band, it seems, is to write from a true place; the result is songs that literally run the spectrum of human emotion. Attend a concert, and it becomes clear that the live performance of deeply personal songs has a real effect on people. And the band itself is not immune, as demonstrated when Dan literally passed out into the drum set during a finale song, sending cymbals and drum stands crashing while the rest of the band played on until the close.

Great songwriting is bound to be noticed eventually. As proof that the harder you work, the luckier you get, one of those people who noticed was Grammy winning producer Alex da Kid (Eminem, Rihanna). Alex and Dan began collaborating on projects, and soon the band had developed a relationship with Alex and his team. The alchemy resulting from Alex’s hip hop sensibilities and Imagine Dragons’ anthemic rock is nothing short of explosive. The byproduct of this creative collision is “Continued Silence,” a six song in-your-face sonic grenade that breaks musical boundaries and yet is strangely relatable by its improbably diverse audience.

Despite it all, on any given day when they aren’t on the road playing shows, you can still find Imagine Dragons huddled away in a rehearsal room somewhere, banging out song after song in search of the next perfect track. Like most things in Vegas, the band is angled at going big or going bust. For the sake of those who love great music, we hope it’s the former.

Channeling the roots of hard rock and metal with a revitalized sound, Sonic Altar brings a unique musical experience to a stagnating metal scene. Formed in 2006, Sonic Altar began as a jam band amongst school friends. The same year the band played in Hong Kong as part of a competition and recorded a single that received national airplay in New Zealand. Sonic Altar played all over the country in 2009, blowing audiences away with their live performance. In New Zealand they have also supported some very big names - Ozzy Osbourne, KISS, Alice Cooper, Lordi and Whitesnake.

In late 2009 the band decided that they had the right material to make an album. They began recording in their management’s studio in December with producer Mike Exeter (Black Sabbath, Glenn Hughes, Cradle of Filth). Sonic Altar’s debut album 'No Sacrifice' was finished in May 2010. The album was released in Japan and New Zealand in early 2011. The band went on to play the national ‘No Sacrifice’ tour. This also saw the single ‘In the Night’ getting airplay on major radio stations and the music video breaking 150,000 views on YouTube.

2012 brought another change in the line up for the band in the form of ‘young blood’ Dave Hudson - taking over on guitar from Rowan Uhe. Hudson brought a different style of songwriting and helped reinvent the band’s direction. With the band pumping out song after song, plans were made to record the next album. While rehearsing the new songs, Sonic Altar also embarked on a national New Zealand tour with Australian metal heavyweights ‘Lord’. In July the band began recording their second album with vocalist Kane Bennett producing and engineering. When the tracks were recorded, Bennett took the album to Finnvox Studios in Finland to mix it with Mikko Karmila (Nightwish, Children of Bodom, Sonata Arctica) and master it with Mika Jussila (Nightwish, Children of Bodom).

These are exciting times for the band as they prepare their new live show and ready the artwork, music videos and promotional material for their second album.

Sonic Intension is a five piece Progressive Soul band based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

After releasing "First Four" in December 2014, Sonic Intension has been hard at work promoting their year-long, four-part, eight-song release called "Breakfast" while playing shows in the Twin Cities and around the Midwest in support of the release. 

Tampa-based producer and instrumental artist Sonic Skillz brings his 
nostalgic touch to contemporary hip-hop, R&B, and electronic music.

Sonic Skillz first began creating and releasing his own sounds after discovering FL Studio in his teen years. By age 20, he founded Urbanizm Music, his own record label. Since then, the producer has worked with notable independent hip-hop artists like Mega Ran and Skyzoo, and had viral tracks, including his tribute song to wrestling star/actress Sasha Banks.

Born and raised in New York, Sonic Skillz credits the city’s soundscape for influencing his creative direction - from Nintendo chiptunes that gave way to more intricate electronic music to hearing iconic hip-hop and R&B singles blasting from someone’s car speakers as they passed by. His key inspirations include hip-hop’s ‘90s ‘golden era’ and classic video game scores (Sonic the Hedgehog, Street Fighter, Streets of Rage), as well as 
Michael Jackson, Dr. Dre, Tee Lopes, Yuzo Koshiro, and Jim Johnston.

Blending past and present in his unique production style, Sonic Skillz is now in the studio cooking up new music. Look out for "Consoles and Kickdrums," his game music and hip-hop remix series, dropping soon.

Bandleader Lance Ferguson and his nine piece Melbourne outfit The Bamboos have come a long way since forming in 2001. Initially inspired by the instrumental raw funk of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, they made waves internationally and were quickly labelled as one of the greatest funk and soul bands of our time. But while many would be happy to simply soak up the praise and keep on keeping on, The Bamboos have proven that they are more than meets the eye; over five acclaimed albums, their evolution in sound and style has consistently confounded and exceeded expectations, pulling the rug from under the feet of those who like to pigeonhole. 

The band signed to respected Brighton (UK) indie label Tru Thoughts in 2005, where they remain a cornerstone of the roster. Across their five studio albums to date - ‘Step It Up’ (2006), ‘Rawville’ (2007), ‘Side-Stepper’ (2008), ‘4’ (2010) and 'Medicine Man' (2012) – the metamorphosis of The Bamboos has been full of twists and turns, and it continues apace. A seasoned DJ, solo producer (aka Lanu) and all-round insatiable music obsessive, Ferguson's myriad influences and passion for pushing things forward ensure that each new release is a discovery for devout fans and newcomers alike.

Their fifth long-player ‘Medicine Man’, released in June 2012 was a watershed - a forward-looking record brimming with fresh ideas, stellar turns, classic songwriting and a brand of multi–layered pop they can truly call their own. Guest vocalists Aloe Blacc, Tim Rogers (You Am I), Megan Washington, Daniel Merriweather, Bobby Flynn, alongside resident singers Kylie Auldist and then newcomer Ella Thompson helped make the album their biggest at home to date. Choosing this album to reflect the band as it is on stage, the vocals are split between Kylie Auldist and Ella Thompson. And each bring contrasting styles that complement each other magically, but show The Bamboos to be utterly unique.

Their songs have been regularly on playlists of national radio stations in Australia, the UK, France, the US, Japan and beyond.
