Never heard a lecture, she didn't need to preach the truth, She just showed me how to listen deep from childhood through my youth. I watched her meet the broken ones, the ones the crowd ignored, She gave 'em a safe harbor, not a single lesson stored. She didn't have the answers, she just gave 'em a clean slate, And that's how I learned you lead with your heart, before you open up the gate.
Oh, it's easy to spot the fake ones if you watch 'em long enough, They're the ones talking wisdom, when the road gets too rough. They say the words, they wear the badge, they post the perfect prayer, But faith isn't just a Sunday suit, it's walking through despair.
