After the astounding success of the first release on Reinier Zonneveld's imprint Filth on Acid, the label follows up with a slightly deeper take on club music. We welcome Mees Salomé, who managed to deliver a unique, balanced blend of breathtaking melodies and grooves. Mees Salomé comes from The Netherlands, and manages to deliver extra-ordinary music while only being 21 years old. 

Equivalence EP kicks off with the title track. Equivalence opens with a sturdy kick and dirty hi-hat, anticipating the mesmerizing melody. Combined with the long break and subtle arrangement this track makes for a very heavy hitter on the dancefloor. Next up is Ignorance Is Bliss. Piercing synthlines and morph into rhythmic arpeggiated progressions while continuously driven by a growling bassline. This track really shows of Mees Salomé's talent for balancing out harmony and dissonance. Followed by Reinier Zonneveld's remix for Forest Fire, which turns the original into a heavy no-nonsense peak-time techno banger with fat kicks and big drums, while leaving the powerful synth brass into place leading the way into a big climax. Forest Fire original stands out by the way all the sounds work together, morphing and interchanging in a very organic way. The brass synth makes this track perfect for melodic peak-time affairs. For the conclusion of this EP we're happy to announce Julian Wassermann, who scored many hits on labels like Stil vor Talent & Katermukke with his signature deeper style of tech-house and deep-house. He takes Equivalence into a more hypnotic direction, using an almost talking drum groove. By introducing strong dissonance between the original synthline and his own added pads, tension builds up to new levels which makes the track very effective for after-party brain melting.

Mees Salomé - Ignorance Is Bliss (Original Mix)

Drumcode returns with its 6th installment of the internationally celebrated A-Sides series. Renowned for fostering a shared space between industry tastemakers and rising talent alike, the careful curation that goes into each volume is a fine example of why Beyer’s brand continues to go from strength to strength.

Techno titan Adam Beyer has grown Drumcode into a force to be reckoned with; the label has become synonymous with forward-thinking, functional techno and even after 20 years, Drumcode continues to find new boundaries to push, and ways to solidify its legacy as the world’s number one techno label. 

2017 is no exception, with Beyer’s imprint hosting it’s first stage at Tomorrowland, not to mention the expansion of the critically acclaimed Junction 2 where the Drumcode stage is the centrepiece and Adam plays the key role of festival director. The Drumcode phenomenon continues to grow each week, chiefly fuelled by Drumcode Radio, Adam’s radio show that’s broadcast in 57 countries via 86 stations and to a global audience of 16 million techno fans per week. 

The A-Sides series acts as a perfect vignette of Drumcode’s cutting-edge sound; functional yet inspired techno, all tracks tried and tested by Beyer himself. Vol. 6 continues this tradition with a collection of 16 multi-faceted cuts from a mixture of both emerging artists and experienced label friends. 

The heart-throbbing bass in Amelie Lens’ electrifying piece ‘In Silence’ sets the tone for the dark and dance-floor-ready energy that Vol.6 carries the whole way through. Other standouts include Mars Bill’s rough’n’ready ‘Mohave’. Pulsating and precise, ‘Mohave’ has highlighted many of Beyer’s sets recently as has Wehbba’s monster track ‘Fake’, which fans have been anticipating the release of all year. 

Label-favourites Dense & Pika also feature on ‘A-Sides’ Vol. 6 with their hard-hitting ‘Just a Beat’ and a huge track from Beyer himself who has joined forces with Enrico Sangiuliano to bring us their undeniably infectious ‘Preset Heaven’. 

With many more notable selections from the likes of Julian Jewell, Timmo, Tiger Stripes and Pig&Dan, A-Sides Vol. 6 is another impressive addition to the label’s prolific release roster and a testament to why Drumcode remains at the forefront of the electronic world.

Zoo Brazil and Mark Fanciulli are no strangers to Saved and have joined forces to create a new project called “Test Tone”. The boys have been locked away in the studio in Stockholm for the past year and the two cuts that can be heard on this release are just the beginning.
First up is “Concord” which has an alluring arp that works perfectly alongside powerful strings. As the track progresses, further intensity is created on the drops with white noise and rolling snares.
Finishing up the release and adding to the peak time business is “Analogue Dreams”. Just like the lead track it has an arp which evolves perfectly with it's brightness and release altering across a powerful sustained bassline.

​After bringing the tech house anthem 'Wendy Legs' to ​Mixmag​ earlier this year, UK duo Eli & Fur have handed over their latest single to the capable hands of OC & Verde.

The soulful 'Around You' track goes one level deeper under OC & Verde's direction, bellowing over a series of stabbing synths and echoing vocals from The Black 80s before diving into a thundering break down. The remix is out on November 17 on NYX Music.

John Digweed’s Bedrock kick-starts what will no doubt be another exceptional year for electronic music, with a label debut from Canada’s Shelley Johannson. A chance meeting with John at last summer’s Veld Festival led to the Toronto-based artist exchanging emails and sending him some new tracks she’d just finished. The rest, as they say, is history. Undoubtedly, Shelley is an upcoming future star of the ever inventive and evolving global Techno scene, having previously impressed with releases on Sian’s Octopus Recordings. She also recently created a superb guest mix for ‘Transitions’ Episode 681 (listen link below).

For people with open minds and open ears, electronic music doesn’t really have borders - blurring boundaries is a given - unrestricted creativity and experimentation is what allows artists to make exceptional music that becomes timeless and treasured. Shelley Johannson is cut from the cloth of the new generation of global techno artists who channel the spirit of classic and timeless music, update it and create new boundless possibilities for the future. Her inimitable dancefloor-driven attitude showcases a creative palette that stands for pure quality and originality, as she boldly walks her own path towards a very bright and highly creative musical future.
Her EP opens with the heavy kick-led, stripped-back, fizzing percussive energy of ‘Broken City’, a track topped with a healthy dose of analogue squelch and deliciously evocative vocal snippets. ‘Nocturnal Bright’ maintains the focus on a powerful percussive groove, but ups the energy levels and adds some delightful melodic beauty to the proceedings. ‘Slow Rise’ rides a tricky tightrope - building tension to superb effect as the dark’n’dirty beats spark subtle melodic motifs throughout, creating a distinct emotive edge. Closing out the EP perfectly, title track ‘Tribaltone’ is an ever-evolving, percussive workout par excellence as it fires a furnace of energy for an impressive finale.

Taking the first step into 2018, Rebellion welcomes Cologne’s Jonathan Kaspar. Hot on the heels of his debut release Zarun on Crosstown Rebels as part of the new Spirits compilation, the accomplished producer invites us into his world to deliver a wholly mystical two track EP.

Deep, rumbling pads swell and fall as subtle shakes entice the senses in title track Boson. Sonder soon follows with melodic bursts and deep chords in dreamy layers. “I made both tracks right after each other and immediately felt they paired up really nicely,” Jonathan reveals. ‘Boson’ is raw, bassy and percussive, whereas ‘Sonder’ holds a certain deepness, a hidden vocal and a lot of different noises. I remember so many nights and days playing them out. They are like the soundtrack of my 2017.“

DJ and producer Jonathan Kaspar has released on the likes of Objektivity, Pets Recordings and Kompakt´s KX, while also being resident of the famed Gewölbe club.
