Übersprudelnde Lebensfreude und liebenswerter Hedonismus abseits von bunten Reklame-Abziehbildchen. Die Botschaft ist klar: Lebe dein Leben so, wie du es für richtig hältst. Lass dich nicht verschlucken und verrückt machen von der Maschinerie der Anforderungen. Es geht nicht nur ums Funktionieren und Konsumieren, dein Leben besteht aus mehr als nur Hashtags. Neonschwarz können einen Sommerhit nach dem anderen raushauen - das hört man. Aber trotz Sunshine-Groove haben ihre Songs immer zu viel Tiefgang als zum Hirnabschalten gut ist. Damit muss man klar kommen. Bei aller Leichtigkeit des Songs scheint durch, dass Captain Gips, Marie Curry, Johnny Mauser und Spion Y nicht die glücklichen, gelackten Youngsters sind, die nur über ihre kleinen Problemchen singen. Hinter den Palmen der hedonistischen Oberfläche verbirgt sich ein ganzes Dickicht, das es noch zu durchqueren gilt - aber eben nach deinen Regeln. Und wenn die Tür niemand aufschließt, musst du sie eben eintreten!

Nach UlalaUrlaub und Hängemattenland gelingt Captain Gips mit Bettman nun erneut ein Schlag im Kampf gegen die deutsche Arbeitsmoral. Mit Vergnügen verherrlicht Captain Gips in schillernden Farben den arbeitsverweigernden, langschlafenden "Bettman - den König auf der Matratze". "Schlafen und Faulheit" zu zelebrieren und als etwas Schönes und Gutes darzustellen ist das Ziel, denn "Schlafen und Faulheit" sind die bösen Gegenwörter gegenüber einer Leistungsgesellschaft in der die Maxime der Arbeit über den Wert des Menschen entscheidet.
Der selbsternannte "Kaiser der Daunen" berichtet in Bettman voller Stolz von seinen hedonistischen Taten und lässt sich von derart absurden Werte- und Moralvorstellungen nicht verunsichern ("...ich lieg´im Bett, Leute gebt mir
Respekt") oder um es in den Worten von Groucho Marx zu sagen:

NEONSCHWARZ heißt seit 2012 auch das gemeinsame Projekt mit der Hamburger Sängerin Marie Curry. 2010 landeten Gips, Curry & Mauser mit „On a journey“ einen Sommerhit, der zum YouTube-Blockbuster avancierte. Seitdem warten ganze Scharen auf weiteren funkelnden Stoff von Marie Curry, die es immer wieder schafft, Rapsongs zu Dauerurlaubern im Ohr zu verwandeln. 2012 heckt sie bestimmt noch weitere musikalische Streiche aus - ob mit Neonschwarz oder auf Solopfaden. Von Kiel bis Bern kennt das neonschwarze Dreigestirn wohl jedes autonome Jugendzentrum von innen, hat in Clubs, auf Fusion Hangars und als Vorband von Frittenbude für Begeisterung gesorgt. 

Beim Hamburger Superlabel Audiolith haben die drei einen vertrauensvollen Patenonkel gefunden und sind dort in bester Gesellschaft von Bands wie Egotronic, Frittenbude und Supershirt. Bisher erschienen unter Audiolith-Flagge die Captain Gips Singles „Was ihr liebt“ und „Bettman“ sowie das Johnny Mauser Album „Die Sendung mit dem Mauser“ als Vinyl. Jetzt folgen die Doppelsingle „Heben ab / On a journey“ sowie die EP „Unter’m Asphalt der Strand“.

Being referred to as one of the most promising production talents and the undisputed master of the new Romantic House movement taking over todays dancefloors our man from Berlin caters his next four piece EP under the innocence-craving name of „Lets Be Kids Again“.

Starting off with the sound of looped, campfire'esque and folk-referring guitars on top of tricky, stuttering beats the opening track „Never“ is causing a bit of confusion before transforming into the most soft-skinned piece of SlowHouse one has ever come across, featuring the most tender and fracturable female voice sampled in the history of electronic music. This one's neither a track or a song – this one's nothing but pure audio love.

Coming up next is „Sometimes“ with it's deep ambient'ish intro built of layered minor strings and a few shakers which turns into a slowly pumping DiscoFunk excess serving all ingredients for being what's to be called a late night ladies tune. Seductive vocals? Check. Chicago-referring basslines? Check. Background vocoders? Check. A groove that's hell of sexy? Double check. This one's as brilliant as Daft Punk's debut album for sure.

The title track „Lets Be Kids Again“ is on a more dancefloor demanding tip with ever echo'ing sounds, pumping drums and a special clap drive perfectly corresponding with flickering, slightly balearic guitars, tweedling violins and sweet, melancholia-infused vocals singing praise of golden childhood memories.
Finally we have „Colour Back“ which is to be referred to as the next piano driven future classic. More fragile vocals meet very unique and creative filter techniques here, hosting a thrilling scifi synth line that seems to be sprung from the ItaloDisco heydays, perfectly contrasting the organic backing with its cold and artifical vibe.

Who we are: we are a record label, like many others are, but we're a whole lot more than that. We are the baby of Lars. Lewerenz, who began to release our music, the music of his friends, his adopted family, in 2003. Which was a good decision, we've celebrated ourselves for this everywhere in the meantime. Cuz Audiolith Youth is everywhere. And we're there with it and down with it. We're coming to your town, and we're listening to what you have to say, and we'll see each other in the streets and we'll be wearing the same t-shirt. Your style is important to us, cause you like our mix. So you become part of it, cause everything fun and authentic goes, cause we're don't dig getting in trouble but rather get on parking lots. On which we rave. We drink our beer. But don't close our heads. We dance and sing songs. Cause we're way hotter than the crap they try to flog at you in Discounterland. Don't listen to them.
