Whether the true story behind this collaboration is romantic or not lies in the eye of the beholder. This is not the time or place to make up stories that turn into legends, therefore, we will just stick to the truth. The truth is quite plausible and told quickly. Torsun liked the band Herrenmagazin and wanted to make a track with lead singer Deniz. Deniz was intrigued, but just because they shared the idea of working together, didn't mean it was easy. The biggest challenge was that they didn´t have a song to record. Luckily, Torsun had something that could be called a vision, and sent Deniz a 40 second loop that would serve as a foundation. Deniz created a framework around the loop and working together became more of a reality. But even though both had demonstrated their willingness, the biggest task was yet ahead: a face to face meeting.

They had met before on random occasions, but aside from light pleasantries, had never really spoken to each other. To establish a closer relationship, Deniz took the train to visit Torsun in Berlin. Because good will always prevail, it didn't take them long to become friends, and they started to do what they were meant for: making music.

The result is not the Egotronic sound you are used to. It is more technoish and less effects oriented. They both wanted to create a song that fit best during the first hours of the day, something that regular Audiolith fans never hear because they are already in bed. It is a song for the time of the night when the crowd is getting thinner, water replaces alcohol, but you are still unable to go home. It is a pop song for people who listen to techno. A song that doesn't desperately want to get your attention or stand in the spotlight. Its only intention is to hold on to the moment and stand imperfect and humble. It is written for a time when nothing matters anymore. Because when nothing matters, everything does.

Spending a night listening to the same music over and over again most-likely isn’t a source of joy. To prevent this particular scenario the group of DJs and producers of the Audiolith cosmos decided to delve into new musical realms. Thus the project “Stiff Little Spinners” was born, uniting the diversity of Techno and House, to create a sampler which shall display this certain diversity.

The sampler’s prelude, a soft song named “Pendelverkehr Ab Ostkreuz”, is contributed by Rampue and shines a completely new light on him. Soulful vocals and an almost dreamy sound – just the right thing to continue where one hasn’t really left off at night.
Rampue is followed by Kalipo, the new solo project by Frittenbude’s producer Jakob Häglsperger. With his song “Time Will Tell” he creates a diversified, propelling piece of music, which never happens to get boring - instead constantly maintaining its thrills.
The third track originates from Mendoza, who delivers the sampler’s peak experience for those very special moments at a club with his hybrid of Garage and House, “Hugo”.
The whole compilation is rounded off by Krinks’ “Better Than That” and Gimmix’ “Fenja” – two atmospheric tracks with beautiful background vocals, which convey the feeling to simply close one’s eyes and float away from one’s daily hustle.

But that’s not all there is to it – in the end the Stiff Little Spinners still remain hungry and thirst for more. Thus it is to be expected that Audiolith will present quite some more releases and events under the banner of Stiff Little Spinners.

Die Message ist Seenot, die Lösung ist Schwimmen, Schwimmen bis kein Land mehr in Sicht ist. Eine Ode an die Selbstüberschätzung, den sanft sich selbst herzenden Selbsthass und letztlich auch an das unaufhaltbare Scheitern eines jeden Einzelnen im in sich zusammensinkenden Zirkus des Lebens.

Seitdem warten ganze Scharen auf weiteren funkelnden Stoff von Marie Curry, die es immer wieder schafft, Rapsongs zu Dauerurlaubern im Ohr zu verwandeln. 2012 heckt sie bestimmt noch weitere musikalische Streiche aus - ob mit Neonschwarz oder auf Solopfaden. Von Kiel bis Bern kennt das neonschwarze Dreigestirn wohl jedes autonome Jugendzentrum von innen, hat in Clubs, auf Fusion Hangars und als Vorband von Frittenbude für Begeisterung gesorgt. 

Beim Hamburger Superlabel Audiolith haben die drei einen vertrauensvollen Patenonkel gefunden und sind dort in bester Gesellschaft von Bands wie Egotronic, Frittenbude und Supershirt. Bisher erschienen unter Audiolith-Flagge die Captain Gips Singles „Was ihr liebt“ und „Bettman“ sowie das Johnny Mauser Album „Die Sendung mit dem Mauser“ als Vinyl. Jetzt folgen die Doppelsingle „Heben ab / On a journey“ sowie die EP „Unter’m Asphalt der Strand“.

While Robosonic's extraordinary OFF debut „Worst Love“ was paying homage to a specific underground rap record by the Dilated Peoples (actually without sampling the record itself), the follow-up now takes it way over the edge: consciously, of sound mind. Since their early vinyl bootlegs (2005) under various aliases and their critically acclaimed first album as Robosonic (2007), Cord and Sacha incorporate a certain sense of irony into their undisputed world class production work. For their next episode on OFF, the boys cut slices of hiphop sample history and flipped them into seriously soulful house music joints. Functional arrangements with plenty of musical references to golden eras and past times create the emotional depth of Robosonic’s modern „hi-tech soul“. 
„OVER“ with its intimate feel seems less obvious than the famous hookline of „THE EDGE“. In fact Dr. Dre was not the first beatmaker to cook it up, so Robosonic probably aren‘t the last either. They just do what they like doing best. Funnily enough our praised creators anticipate critics and let Talib do the talking: „These cats ain‘t real.“

Der Katze entkommen – Eine Maus auf der Flucht? Konnte die Katze gar besiegt werden?
