I'm writing new tracks for some upcoming releases. So for the next few months I'll be re-releasing some oldies. Here's the first... enjoy :)

isles

This one is a homage to the sublime ‘Sirius’ by The Alan Parsons Project. I’ve been obsessed with the intro to that track for much of my life. It has been featured in tv and film countless times over decades, so if you’ve never heard it, I’d assume you’ve been taking a long holiday somewhere up the road from Canis Major.

The ‘51’ in the title refers to a shameless yet undeniably outstanding rip-off created by Area 51 called ‘Let It Move You’. It was made in the early ‘90s and was strongly connected to rave/club culture back in the day. If you enjoy that sort of thing and have never heard it, I highly recommend you seek it out.

Like Area 51, I only approximated the intricacies of the main riff, ‘cause in all honesty my listening and musical skills are simply not up to the job of recreating it in its entirety. Despite that fact, I reckon there’s enough going on to keep your ears happy and I’m also fairly proud of the final section.

I understand that this is not strictly drum and bass and it was never intended to be - for a start, it’s a bit too slow. I simply found that the beats hit where they did and they ended up following a typical dnb pattern.
