Quest for Peace

"TESSERACT" is a musical exploration of the hypercube—a four-dimensional geometric object. Built around a perpetual ostinato that evokes the constant motion of time, the piece portrays the idea of a cube displaced along a fourth-dimensional axis.

The opening theme represents a single moment within this multidimensional object. As the music evolves, a second version of the cube emerges, coexisting in a different time state. Together, they suggest a complex structure that we, as finite beings, can only perceive in fragments.

"TESERACTO" es una exploración musical del hipercubo: un objeto geométrico de cuatro dimensiones. Mediante un ostinato constante que sugiere el flujo del tiempo, la obra describe la idea de un cubo desplazado a lo largo de un eje temporal.

El tema inicial representa un único momento particular de este objeto multidimensional. Conforme la música evoluciona, emerge una segunda versión del cubo, coexistiendo en un estado temporal diferente. Juntos, sugieren una estructura compleja que nosotros, como seres finitos, solo podemos percibir como un fragmento de ellos en el tiempo.

Augusto Cantoral is a Mexican composer and pianist whose musical language has been described as “pure romance,” blending eclectic structures with deep emotional narratives. His style merges influences from Chopin, Debussy, Rachmaninov, and Philip Glass into immersive harmonies and contemporary textures.

His works have premiered at festivals like *Aires* (Mexico City), with pieces such as *Campanas de viento* (2023) and *Paisaje Sonoro No. 1, Tormenta* (2024), as well as the *12th INBAL-SACM Autumn Festival*, where *Amour passé* (2024) was performed by Abd El Hadi Sabag.

Graduated with honors from FAMUNICACH, he blends traditional writing with extended techniques, soundscape creation, and digital processing. He currently teaches at FAMUNICACH’s Piano Academy and develops research and creative music projects.

Ha estrenado obras en festivales como *Aires* (CDMX), con piezas como *Campanas de viento* (2023) y *Paisaje Sonoro No. 1, Tormenta* (2024), así como en el *12° Festival Artístico de Otoño INBAL-SACM*, donde se interpretó *Amour passé* (2024) por el Mtro. Abd El Hadi Sabag.

Egresado con mención honorífica de FAMUNICACH, combina la escritura tradicional con técnicas extendidas, paisajes sonoros y procesamiento digital. Actualmente es docente de la Academia de Piano de la misma institución, y desarrolla proyectos de investigación y creación musical.
