As we enter the midsummer-solstice season, I wanted to share this recording from a glorious sunny morning last year, now archived on Deep Mind Music ☀️

This is the set I played 8-10AM on Sunday at @comebyefestival in Wales for @umbilicalchords, in their cosy fuchsia~draped ambient dome.

Playing ambient in the early hours of a festival is always really special for me, as everyone’s minds are open and unwound, the gentle caress of nature is all around, and it feels the best backdrop for swirling into imaginal worlds 🌿

Hope you enjoy this wistful meander through tall breezy grasses, golden sunshine, and drifting clouds ~ a mix for daydreaming, nature-wandering, tea-drinking, sunbathing 🧡🌞🌾

His latest outing “Earthseed” is a four track EP on Transatlantic, that ranges in sounds from atmospheric to energetic breaks and melodic dub techno.

Slade is a DJ, producer, and sonic cosmonaut whose journey began in the raw and textured soundscapes of Johannesburg, South Africa. Influenced by mzansi house, kwaito, gqom, and jazz, his sets carry the weight of the city’s underground energy while weaving in the deep, atmospheric textures of dub, ambient, and minimal acquired during later years spent delving into the Berlin and Barcelona nightlife scenes. Now based in Zurich, he has refined his approach, shaping a sound that is introspective, groovy and immersive.

Slade is part of Alquimica Records, a collective and creative concept dedicated to bringing a dynamic African and Latin electronic sound to the heart of Europe. He is also involved in Show and Tell Records, a Berlin-based label run with close friends. Beyond music, Slade organizes gatherings and events and spends time painting under the alias visceraltints

An instrumental odyssey through the infinite. *The Endless Symphony* translates the mathematical beauty of π into music — patterns without repetition, harmony without end. Each movement explores a facet of infinity: creation, balance, entropy, and return. Through orchestral textures, ambient electronics, and minimalist design, Avaline Ingels constructs a sonic architecture that feels both divine and human — precision guided by emotion.  
Piano, harp, and strings trace circular motifs while choirs breathe in golden ratios. Tempos shift by Fibonacci values, phrases extend by digits of π, and melodies evolve like galaxies forming. The album’s structure loops perfectly: the finale’s final drone blends into the prelude’s first chord, forming a seamless circle of sound.  
*The Endless Symphony* is not a story but a mirror of eternity — a composition that, like π itself, continues forever, revealing meaning only through motion.

Digits in the Dark

Biosphere is the main recording name of Geir Jenssen (born 1962), a Norwegian musician who has released a notable catalogue of ambient music. He is well known for his early "ambient techno" aesthetic and later for his "arctic ambient" style, his use of music loops, and peculiar samples from sci-fi sources. His track "Novelty Waves" was used for the 1995 campaign of Levi's. His 1997 album Substrata was voted by www.hyperreal.org  as one of the all time classic ambient albums. But over the last few years his albums (such as Cirque, Shenzou, Autour de la lune, Dropsonde and N-plants) have embodied some touches of jazz, classical, drone and even some dub-techno.
