Flirting with the sounds of House, French Touch and Nu-Disco, Métamorphose has many facets, yet retains a single vision. La Boutique's new LP is pre-eminently a collection of well-crafted pop songs and glorious club hits, with an 80's flavour that isn't too overpowering.
Highlights here include La Boutique's first and classic single "Go On", the lethally catchy "Under The Sun", as well as La Boutique's latest single, "St-Tropez Lifestyle", an essential summer track for 2014.
The album closes with the beautifully haunting down-tempo number "Une Île" sung by Aurora in her original language.
Overall, Métamorphose is a highly catchy, well-produced collection stylish dance-pop tunes.

Directed by God Father of Grunge Folk Wild Willy Barrett, this dynamic quartet brings a touch of “oo-la-la” to the UK as French chanteuse extraordinaire Aurora Colson takes centre stage, leaving the musicians to demonstrate their individual talents.

This Francophile adventure was originally inspired by Parisian singer Marie-Laure Hucher, who is regrettably unable to continue to tour in the UK due to her other commitments in France. As a result, the band is very happy to welcome on board French vocalist Aurora Colson. Originally from Nancy, county of Lorraine in the East of France, Aurora has a foot on both sides of the Channel, for she has been living and singing in London for more than 11 years.

Captivating audiences both English and French alike with her compelling and expressive vocals, she effortlessly tackles a wide range of styles:
From Gypsy jazz to traditional Celtic, with an occasional hint of Piaf thrown into the mix, her natural “pazzaz” and charmingly French personality shine through.

Aurora has a fond love for Jazz and «chansons rétro» and is planning on bringing an even more “Retro French Touch” to the formation: 
"I was always interested in music while I was growing up - singing all the time, playing a little keyboard as a pre-teen, grabbing opportunities to play my Dad’s drum kit when I was a teenager. I also discovered the old songs by Charles Trénet, Yves Montand, Édith Piaf and others that my grandparents were playing on their radios – I just loved these."

Le Temps des cerises is a song written in France in 1866, with words by Jean-Baptiste Clément and music by Antoine Renard. The song is strongly associated with the Paris Commune. It is believed to be dedicated by the writer to a nurse who was killed in the Semaine Sanglante ("Bloody Week") when French government troops overthrew the commune.

There are many versions of the song, but the most famous one has been popularised by the singer Yves Montand. 

The song is featured in the Japanese animated movie" Porco Rosso" where it is sung by the character in the movie, Gina, however the actual voice is the famous Japanese singer Katô Tokiko.

In this version, Mike worked on an acoustic guitar arrangement, using a finger-picking style.

Aurora Colson, born an only child of drummer Daniel Colson and his wife Jacqueline, developed her passion for music whilst growing up in Neuves-Maisons, a small industrial town in the North East of France.

"I was always interested in music while I was growing up - singing all the time, playing a little keyboard as a pre-teen, grabbing opportunities to play my Dad’s drum kit when I was a teenager."
"I also discovered the old songs by Charles Trenet, Maurice Chevalier, Édith Piaf and others that my grandparents were playing on their radios – I just loved these." 

Whilst pursuing her primary studies in “Art Appliqués” and graphic design, Aurora taught herself to play some guitar in her early 20’s to accompany herself while singing and writing songs. Later came a keyboard and an Apple computer with Reason and Cubase - and started more serious songwriting.

A creative collaboration with Italian keyboard-player/producer Fed Conti resulted in the release of a collection of singles and two albums of electronic dance music under the name "La Boutique".
Several La Boutique’s tracks have been synchronized with television commercials, as well as featured in videogames. Their new LP, "Métamorphose" has just been released in June 2014. 

'Live' performance was as important next step, so from 2005 onwards, Aurora identified several opportunities to sing with bands.

In 2008, Aurora formed a duo with pianist Kate Batchelor, playing a mix of pop standards and French songs. "Although I sang in English at first, later I included French songs, which the audiences loved."

In 2010, Aurora established a musical/creative partnership with the guitarist and producer Mike Collins; the two have released a series of singles as well as three EPs, mainly covers of well-known French songs, Pop tunes and Jazz standards, all available on iTunes store.

In 2011, Aurora started performing a selection of Jazz and American popular standards with a New York pianist, Al Clogston. 
“I am finding myself more and more attracted to “all time classics” by great American composers such as Cole Porter and Irving Berlin; their songs are like beautiful pearls, perfectly rounded, amazingly written; timeless, and incredibly romantic!…”Depending on the venue and occasion, they can expand as a trio or a quartet, adding drums and saxophone to their formation.

Aurora's latest venture is a jump back to her roots; under the name of "Aurora Chanson", she performs as a solo artist an extensive repertoire of famous and not so famous French songs - from "Les Feuilles Mortes" (Autumn Leaves) to "La Mer" (Beyond The Sea) - Aurora takes you on a journey through Gay Paris, from the cobbled streets of Montmartre to the Parisien cafés with their old-fashioned charm and romance. 
 
Whilst exploring the gems of the Great American Songbook, enjoying live performance, and re-visiting her beloved retro French repertoire, Aurora is also keeping a hand on songwriting, constantly working on new songs for La Boutique, but also currently writing her first solo album. 
 
Never one to sit still, Aurora is always open to discussing new opportunities and ventures.
