Deficit - DnB Culture Guest Mix 2014

Cemtek AKA Scott Geden began his musical journey many moons ago in the world of rock.  However, restless and intrigued by more urban styles, Scott took several music production courses, arming himself with the  skills necessary to make hip-hop, and thereafter collided with his true calling: drum & bass.

Alongside two others, Arookai and Teksteppa, Scott adopted his solo moniker, http://soundcloud.com/cemtek , and co-founded DnB project http://soundcloud.com/d-r-o-p-s

Cemtek's first solo release came on on Abducted Records' Alien Army EP.  His track ‘Lose Control’ has been doing the damage on dance floors in the UK & US alike, with a full solo EP in the pipeline for this  US-based imprint.

Meanwhile on AutomAte, Cemtek as 1/3 of D.R.O.P.S has shown he has what it takes, heading up volumes 1 & 2 of the Depth of Vision EP series and turning the heads of industry stalwarts including Kenny Ken,  Chris Su, John Rolodex, DJ Concrete, Mauoq and featuring on the mighty Drum & Bass Arena podcast.

As adept on the decks as he is in the studio, this mix gives a taste of what to expect from his live sets right now.  Enjoy!

We share a mutual love of dark, techy drum & bass, although we are involved with a range of other bass-led genres. We DJ and write music individually and together. We run the AutomAte family of digital labels, including AutomAte, AutomAte Deep and AutomAte Tech. AutomAte aims to bring you the best in edgy drum & bass, aimed square at the dancefloor, from rising stars to established artists, from chunky steppers to dark rollers and all manner of other fancy-ticklers. The parent label has already chalked up Radio 1 airplay from Friction, support from Drum & Bass Arena and has caught the attention of more DJs than you could shake a stick-insect at.

The Deep label aims to put the warmth back into drum & bass with a range of deep, eclectic, inspirational music, influenced by anything from the Far East to South America and everything in between. AutomAte Deep was launched in 2013 and has already picked up Radio 1 airplay from Nihal plus support from Raiden, EBK, Morphy, The Untouchables, Mental Forces, J Robinson, Ortokore, Philth, Stunna, Marukomu, Dexta & Mauoq (Diffrent Music).

The Tech label showcases a variety of gritty drum & bass music, from amen tracks and heavy-steppers to neuro and hardcore styles. We like it grimy with a slight attitude problem and an infectious groove.
