Damian Lazarus invites Meera to Rebellion as she makes her debut on the label with the release  her two-track EP, ‘Telefon’.  

Influenced by producers with unorthodox approaches such as Burial and J Dilla, blossoming Norwegian DJ/ producer Meera may be young in her career, but she is already capturing the attention of some of the scene’s  biggest names. Following the release of her debut single ‘Music For Humans’, supported by both Black Coffee and  Damian Lazarus, who she recently joined at Hï in Ibiza at the start of August, she now heads to Crosstown Rebels’  sister imprint Rebellion for the very first time as she unveils two fresh productions across ‘Telefon’. 

“‘Telefon’ started as me procrastinating on another track, but grew into its own thing throughout the day  and was a finished track by the second day. The entire process is kind of a blur, everything just came  together. ‘Slowdown’ was my first attempt at using my own vocals on a track, as well as something more  melodic and dreamy rather than a ‘club banger’. The track was very inspired by the vibe of a certain  Burning Man set.” - Meera. 

Armed with brooding basslines beneath sweeping synths and rumbling percussion, ‘Telefon’ balances  commanding core elements with sprinklings of light, hazy and wistful melodies for a hypnotic cut loaded with  suspense and energy - all while stuttered vocals exploring the frustrations of being disconnected to others ebb  and flow amongst the mix. In contrast, ‘Slowdown’ is more off-kilter initially, with Meera’s own vocals again guiding  the scattered bass hits before slowly transitioning into a resonant production guided by airy, emotive keys and  bright leads.

Irene Radice returns to ICONYC in collaboration Dagmar to bring us a stunning three track EP. The duo delivers a slice of late summer vibes titled 'Here in the Clouds'. The release kicks things off nicely with melancholic moodiness of 'Running' as we meander effortlessly through club inspired melodies, while the sultry vocals sit wonderfully on top adding an extra layer of depth and class. The duo mean business and it is evident with every step of the way. Essential stuff!

The title track 'Here in the Clouds' finds Irene at her creative best with a driving, hypnotic production that's nicely dialed in or the dance floor. Punchy beats and a full, driving groove anchor the piece, as vibrant tones and spacey effects adorn the framework, while Dagmar graces us with her stunning voice. The main break hits suddenly and its astral charm quickly saturates your pleasure centers, before melting down to a cavernous reservoir as the beats drop for a storming finale.

The melodic soundscapes of the closing track 'No One' rounds off this spectacular release. Irene's influences are immediately evident as subtle freeform concepts drift through percussive inspired instrumentations. Rippling melodies trip along a deep kick that anchors an auricular montage to create a special sonic infused moment, complemented by a stunning groove that is going to leave a mark on your aural perception. Stunningly textured pads that warm the soul and a strong melodic infused bassline provide the base for this inspired piece to play out in delayed glory. 

With 'Here in the Clouds' Irene Radice really shows that there're no boundaries, as this beautiful gem guides you to a full-on club laden, melodic hug of a release that will cause many smiles induced moments!
