Last year @tom-larson presented our NYE special episode, and for this year, he presents us this special Xmas episode. This is a deja vu, a cross point of the two different parallel universes. 

Tom Larson was born on October 24, 1979 in Sonneberg. At the age of 16 he discovered his love for electronic music. At that time he was inspired by music sets of Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth, Karotte and many other artists.He also had a big interest in spinning records.

Tom began to create Mixes... He put on records in many reputable locations in his homeland and at numerous radio stations like Sputnik Radio for example. He convinced lots of parties with his ingenious DJ Skills and also wants to convince you.

WHEN WE COLLIDE is the first song from my upcoming 4 Track EP ROOTS, which will be released on March 1st alongside a beautiful remix by Mila Stern on the Berlin based label Springstoff 🫶

WHEN WE COLLIDE is special for me because it’s actually the first love song I ever wrote. It’s about how two lovers keep bumping into each other. They can’t let go of each other and whenever they collide, time stands still - the heart stops searching. But when they are separated, doubts arise. The question that arises: Is this really the right person for me to spend my life with? The song tells my view of love. Love can be so many things, such as passionate or friendly. But in a relationship, it’s also a decision. The decision for a person with all their wonderful sides but also their flaws. A decision not to constantly look for something else that you don’t have - because that happens quickly enough. Instead, to focus on what you appreciate about the person in question. And if you do that, you can let yourself fall into the relationship much more easily and enjoy it to the full. At least that’s how it was and is for me and my love ❤️ Hope you like it.

EM-JãŸ hails from Longford in the midlands of the Republic of Ireland . Now into his third year here in BC , he comes via the Rave scene in Dublin in the late 90’s and moving to Edinburgh Scotland playing with The Drum Clinic SoundSystem in 2001 . After taking many years out from music and returning to college at SEM Manchester and graduating in 2019 is as enthusiastic if not more so than the younger days.Moving to Vancouver soon after SEM in 2019 ,EM-JãŸ spent his time playing music with one of the most active crews in Vancouver,BC “Vantek “ and More recently in late 2021 founding APX Collective and organizing events by Starting off at the now infamous underground club , The Mine , where he was instrumental in setting the place up and running and organizing events there.Now back in Manchester Uk , and spending time back at SEM Manchester at music production and sound design .Can be got Playing a broad range of sounds from minimal & melodic to hard Techno and House depending on the mood and time.

EQUINOXAST #120 By MF (BRA🇧🇷)

In the early 2022, when we still called ourselves DEEPtHREEM, we invited our fantastic friend @mandarin-ffr (co-founder and label manager of Fantastic Friends Recordings, also a part of Oceanic Recordings Label Team) doing the opening of our Minimal Room Series to present our concept of deep minimal.

During these two and a half years, we published 28 great deep episodes in the Minimal Room Series, including genres of Minimal House, Minimal Techno, Dub Techno and Hypnotic. And now, in the end of summer 2024, we make a tough decision to end this series for good.

Our old friends may remember that we had three series focused on three different genres, since the very beginning of DEEPtHREEM. It was just like three cubes stacking on each other (which was also the logo back then). The overlap of the three is the sound we are truly searching for all the time. And now, we finally find it.

Closing Minimal Room Series doesn't mean we don't like minimal sound anymore, but blending our love to minimal sound into the soundscape we build now by our releasing. 

Now, let's welcome our fantastic friend Mandarin again, presents us to give you this perfect special closing episode. This is the 29th of Minimal Room Series, and also the 134th of all our episodes, which have a brand new name, EQUINOXAST.

Born in 1975, Mandarin starts djing in 1995 in France. It’s in Geneva-Switzerland that his career has taken another turn. His jobs as owner of a vinyls shop during the 200’s, event organizer and artistic director of some night-club’s mades him know as nobody how to drive a party. Doing radio shows and djing all over Europe for more than 20 years (A Redbull Tour in Czech Republic still stay is best souvenir), he shared decks with some of famous Dj’s of the past and actual scene as Gene Farris, Onionz, Lil’Louis, Harry Romero, Djul’z, Craig Alexander, Dave Angel, Steeve Bicknell, Terry Francis, Nick Curly and many more…

His sets explore all the trends of undergound electronic music with the sole aim of making people dance, dream and travel. His tracks are always mixed with great precision and he offers a selection as surprising as it is coherent. Ghetto house, dub house, melodic and progressive deep-tech, minimal house and techno are all the component of his music styles. 🪦Pure Brightness (Qingming), the paulownia begins to bloom, voles transform into quails, and rainbows begin to appear. The first day of this Solar Term is also a festival called Qingming. During that festival, people often visit the tombs of their ancestors to clean the gravesites and make ritual offerings to their ancestors.

Robin Bauer (♇ຮƴཞ๑๖) has been gaining experience in the Goa scene since 2012 and was enthusiastic about the spirit and love that is celebrated at events of this kind. While he focused exclusively on "Goa Trance" subgenres until 2018 and thus approached mixing, he opened himself up to all genres from that point on. 

To this day he practices an open style and does not commit himself to a specific genre of music. He wants to create musical journeys and messages that get to the center of the listener's heart. 

Currently he is focusing on downtempo projects. Rob loves creating live mash-ups and combining different genres in a limitless way. His goal is to convey messages with each of his mixes and to interact directly with the conscious or subconscious of the listener

In southern China, torrential rains intensify during Xiaoman, bringing frequent rainfall that fills rivers and lakes to their "small fullness." Meanwhile, in northern regions, precipitation is scarce or even absent. Here, the concept of "fullness" shifts from water to wheat. The grains reach their optimal plumpness, perfectly ripe yet neither overflowing nor excessive.

Illogic is proud to present the new radio show cast by the new artist @marie-w-anders 

Trained in a variety of musical and instrumental styles since her early childhood, she received her first technical training as a sound engineer. Her affinity for microphones, cables and last but not least the cutting of music stems from this time. In 1989, at the age of nineteen, she was a member of the East Berlin underground scene as a keyboarder.
She studied music at the universities in Berlin and Stuttgart, where she was an active member of the improvised and experimental music scene until 2005.
During this time, in addition to her solo activities, she founded two ensembles - Unterton and Hammerhaus - which brought together groove and free-flowing improvised forms from different perspectives.
She initiated and directed "momentmusik" - a "concert series for experimental and improvised music, visual arts, performance and language" at the "Theater Rampe Stuttgart", which established the connection between her ensembles and the national and international scene.
In 2005 she ended her concert activity, went back to Berlin and started producing her music with Cubase. Since 2009 she publishes her music under the pseudonym Marie Wilhelmine Anders.

Electronic music allows her to combine groove with the beauty of the freely unfolding form and thereby realizing her very own expression. The album "Andersworld" (2020) released by the label Broque is the second in a series of albums based on the poems of Scottish poet Robert Louis Stevenson. Marie's conceptual thinking and her craft as a modern classical composer allow her to congenially translate his lyrics into a modern electronic language, which is influenced by techno and electronica.

"Andersworld"​ is already an extremely multi-faceted work of art, which combines club music, storytelling and a curious approach to classical and electronic instruments in a virtuoso way, resulting in an album that always rests harmoniously in itself. As if the influences and facets weren't diverse enough, the follow-up Andersworld Remix album takes that to the next level: across eleven remixes, eight artists stemming from a close yet extended circle of friends sharpen the electronic and club-oriented dimension of Maries songs.

Welcome to Episode 121 on Poisonoise Music with this one seeing the return of one of my all time favourite DJ’s, German based Tom Larson.
Tom has a vast array of excellent mixes in his back catalogue, so be sure to check his page (link below) if you are a fan of the deep and dubby sound.

Tom was born on October 24, 1979 in Sonneberg. At the age of 16 he discovered his love for electronic music. At that time he was inspired by music sets of Richie Hawtin, Karotte and many other artists.He also had a big interest in spinning records.
Tom began to create Mixes... He put on records in many reputable locations in his homeland and at numerous radio stations like Sputnik Radio for example. He convinced lots of parties with his ingenious DJ Skills and also wants to convince you. For Tom electronic music is just timeless.

Marie Wilhelmine Anders is a wanderer in music.

Since she was 5 years old, she has had violin and music theory lessons. But it was the piano that had to come into the house. For three years she taught herself and invented music whenever she came along. Her wish to study composition was fulfilled at the University Of The Arts Berlin, but only after a excursion into sound engineering, the East Berlin underground music scene (as a keyboarder) and drum playing. Her versatility was probably as much a part of her cradle as her enormous musical talent. She made excursions into sound art (sound installations in Berlin and Nuertingen) and could not be satisfied with writing a score. She therefore completed her music studies in Stuttgart, where she was able to realise her great talent for musical improvisation, her joy of movement and the desire to become a music teacher.

During this time, in addition to her solo activities as an improvisor (piano and electronics), she founded two ensembles - Unterton and Hammerhaus - which brought together groove and free-flowing improvised forms from different perspectives. She initiated and directed "momentmusik" - a "concert series for experimental and improvised music, visual arts, performance and language" at the "Theater Rampe Stuttgart", which established the connection between her ensembles and the national and international scene.

In 2005 she ended her concert activity and moved back to Berlin. She learned to play the electric bass, began producing her music with Cubase and publishing it under the pseudonym Marie Wilhelmine Anders.

She discovered the poems of Robert Louis Stevenson and began to develop her new electronic musical language along his verses. Marie's conceptual thinking and her craft as a modern classical composer allow her to congenially translate his lyrics into a modern electronic language, which is influenced by techno and electronica. She has released three albums since then. Particularly noteworthy among them are the 2020 releases on the Munich record label Broque: "Andersworld" and the recently released "Andersworld Remixes".

"Marie works her way out of all restrictions and experiments with styles and musical directions. Whereby she adapts formal means and creates something very own. As always, I am impressed by her accuracy in everything she does. Marie is the secret phoenix among my friends, who puts on a new and even more splendid plumage after each ashes. I have great admiration for their consistency, uncompromisingness, unconditional honesty, absolute fidelity and loyalty. One speaks of the phoenix as an eternally youthful bird. And he can fly anyway. Only that it cannot be seen by everyone. But times are changing."
