Avidus aka Marc Wolf and Fritz Wagner, have been able to build a reputation within the international music industry out of their hometown Kiel with releases on Afterlife, Crosstown Rebels & their own label Empore.
Now are landing on the ever reliable Tel Aviv based Frau Blau.
Avidus return for their third outing on the label with 'Indigo' EP.

With the reopening of clubs and festivals, Avidus present their debut EP for Oddity, loaded with tracks ready for the dancefloor.

The lead track,  Prometheus , is a weapon for the peak time of the set. Full of catchy groove, a synth hook that characterizes their productions, which slowly adds tension to the construction of the track, leading into a break full of melodies and chords that will give you goosebumps.

The second cut, Clavigo , is characterized by a melody that resembles an arpeggio, throughout the whole track, with darker stab sounds appearing and complementing the development of this one. The pads and chords that characterize Avidus appear during the break, filling us with emotions throughout the rest of the track.

Wanderer's Nightsong" is the next one, where the identity of Avidus is reflected instantly from the first play. A very catchy synth, crunchy sounds, and percussions that play between each other, creating an
atmosphere of a danceable trip. Always adding their beautiful textures and chord progressions further in the track, giving a breath of fresh air and emotions.

For the remix duties, the French brothers, Betical, approach reworking  Wanderer's Nightsong” into a breaks track. Using elements of the original, reworking it into their own version and adding new synths and elements that create a beautiful remix.

Premiere: Far&High - Digital Control (Avidus Big Data Remix) [Eklektisch]

'Tel Aviv's Omer Bar has seen recent releases on Frau Blau, Selador and Kinsen. Above all, Omer Bar is a Dj, and after a long list of local stars who went global, he’s surely destined to continue that distinguished lineage.

'Blue Tree' opens things up with its dreamy edged pads, underpinned by a gritty bassline, before the main riff lands adding intrigue ad additional edginess.

We get tougher with 'Bright Room' as this mystical driver adds a moody soundscaoe, full of energy.

Avidus step up on remix duties, and having had their work grace Crosstown Rebels, Hommage, Empore, Needwant, Afterlife and Frau Blau, its no wonder they are in high demand. This remix brings an electronica edged reworking, utilising the arp and keeping the moody vibe, before a cool key changing breakdown adds a lovely twist, and brings a melancholic warmth.

Rounding things off 'Evolve' delivers a deep heads down gem, with a spacious arp pattern interlaced with its bass and hypnotic stabs throughout.'

'Fayer’s 18th release features a new name for the family: the German duo Avidus.

“Together” is about the pandemic. People feel lonely, scared, depressed. We all are alone in this world so, doesn’t this mean we are alone together? This song is also a message of hope and unity. There is a hunger for change, for feeling, touching other people and life.
We are going through this “Together”.

Remixing this beauty, Kevin De Vries and Argentinian talent Santiago Garcia. While Kevin’s remix travels to the more clubby and powerful side, Santiago goes down with the bpms to 112 but keeping the intensity and the dancefloor vibe of the original track.

"We were asked to say a few words about this song. Maybe it will become a bit more than a few. I will try to keep it short. This track is obviously about the pandemic. Something that still doesn't feel real but more like a movie. And yes, it's a terrible movie. People feel lonely. Are scared. Depressed. In the worst case they have lost. A Friend. A Mother. Or just someone they knew. Every life is a universe. So it's far away from our intention and the meaning of this song to relativize any of that. But what about looking at it from another perspective for a moment? Just a bit. With a little hope. Yes, We are alone. All of us. Nearly everyone in the whole world. So aren't we somehow alone together? So many people had been lonely and scared long before Corona. Had nearly lost their mind in depression and desperation. And they were lonely, because they fell out of the system. Didn't fit in. Not only the political systems. But the systems in people's heads. The system of our judgement about others. What if there is a slight chance that this system could actually change? Not long ago, we had another crisis. People seeked refuge in Europe to escape from horror we can't even imagine. And something changed. Not everywhere. Not in every mind. But I really believe that I could see it. Then a strong movement rised to finally rescue this earth. Isn't that change? And now this. I can see it on the streets these days. The people have a hunger. They want to make a step outside. Feel life. And most of all...See, smell, taste and feel other people! This step outside could be a step away our egos. It could be a big step closer to love. It's a terrible disease. But right now the time has come and it's about what we learn from this situation. That might sound naive or pathetic to some. But it's simply the meaning of the song. That we are together."

Venezuelan Fur Coat returns to Balance Music alongside Germany's Avidus for four beautiful cuts that should find favour with a broad section of selectors.

The vocals soar high on 'In Our Town' (Fur Coat version), which is best described as a deep, throbbing melodic house and techno beast filled with intense emotion and main room vocals. Complimenting the vocals are automated synths and crackling FX that add a touch of drama to proceedings.

On the Avidus version, the beats are flipped for a more indie dance rework. A bubbling bass and sparkling percussion add extra groove and a soaring synth bring some flair without sacrificing the emotional content of the vocals.

The Avidus version of 'Fading Borders' ratchets the tension via a mournful melody and hypnotic percussive engine that will lock into any dancefloor. The lovely breakdown introduces added harmonics, which perfectly increases the narrative's reflective nature.

The Fur Coat Breaks version of "Fading Borders' does what it says on the box: The almost sorrowful melody is propelled by a fractured beat. Alongside the humming bass, the intricate rhythms work together to create a brooding workout that feels well suited to these trying times we find ourselves in

Avidus is back on Hommage with their single ‘Dunes’ including remixes from Jesse Trinidad and Oberheimer. The duo, AKA Marc Wolf and Fritz Wagner, hail from Kiel in Germany and bring very different but complementary influences to the project. Marc is a DJ and self-taught drummer and guitar player, while Fritz is committed to music theory and composition. Their distinctive productions have already caught the attention of label bosses at Afterlife and Crosstown Rebels. Avidus - Dunes [Hommage]

We have the great pleasure to be able to present the talented German producer Paul Schmidpeter in our family. Ode To The Sun" is the name of this beautiful release of three tracks where the presence of organic elements with deep melodies will make us feel strong emotions. It also includes a remix of the consolidated German duo Avidus. The first track "Ode To The Sun" includes these elements in an exemplary way. Its intense melody accompanied by a sensual vocal and a constant bass line make this wonderful sensation possible. The depth of the second track called "Everything Floats" and its aggressive percussions make the combination perfect. It takes you to dream but keeps you constantly alert. The third track "Sirens" is a story from beginning to end. An evolution of feelings that will catch you capturing the elegance of its elements. Paul Schmidpeter - Ode To The Sun (Avidus Dream On Remix)

The EP starts with the title track "Erlking". Named after the very dark and mystic king of the elves, this track is a heavy hitting beast. The rolling drum pattern sounds like a horses' gallop, accompanied by striking bass synth shots and signature Avidus effects and details. Then the lead comes in almost narrating a story of being chased by the king. After some rave moments the main break is happening and in a trademark Avidus' manner the harmonies and lead combine into a symphonic progression. After the drop, no more words are needed.

In her remix of the title track rising talent Nina Hepburn from Hamburg takes the lead of Avidus and adds a deeper drum kit, giving it a more elegant and progressive overall vibe. With some more melodic lines and a rolling baseline this remix is a beautiful alternative to the original.

On the "flipside" of the EP, the original named "We Know" is a next chapter when it comes to the deeper works of Avidus. A percussive drum kit with broken beats lead the way, then the emotional chord progressions come in. After some carefully selected arpeggios, emotional vocals come in and complete the song also giving it its title.

Then things get crazy with the remix work of mastermind producer and renowned Oddity labelhead Fur Coat, who takes the vocals and parts of the harmonies and transforms the deep original into a banger of a track, ready to smash dancefloors apart.
