A Gene Vincent hit from 1956. It got as high as no. 7 on the American Billboard charts. The drummer of Gene's band The Blue Caps, namely Dickie Harrell, claimed the song was purchased from a fellow by the name of Donald Graves for the sum of $25. Another story had Graves and Vincent co-writing the song with Graves being paid out for $25. Whoever wrote it, I love it so thank you to both Gene and Mr Graves. 

In my shortened version which is a lot different to the original, I changed the D7 chord to a D, I changed some lyrics and left out the lead break. I use one uke hyped up a little, 2 drum tracks, a generous amount of reverb to give it a bigger live sound, Liverpool bass, mellotron and soul organ keys and a bloke who loves the song...thank you Gene Vincent (RIP)for bringing it to the world.

I did  this over 5 years back with Johnny Hazard (JNY HZD) here on Soundcloud. I never released it on my page so I am doing it now before I forget to again. I re-mastered it and took out a lot of my earlier back-up vocals for a cleaner sound. This is Johnny's great music. It inspired me enough to ask him if I could have a go at lyrics and vocals for it and luckily for me he said yes. A song about left and right, light and dark, good and bad. When you're cruising through life in the middle somewhere, something will eventuate to tip it left or right, to the light or dark, etc; sometimes several times a day...just roll with it...it ain't going to change...

The clinking sound you hear at the intro, middle and outro is me tapping an empty coffee glass with a plastic pen. Whilst I was listening to a playback of the song, I tapped along with the track's intro. I still had the mic on so heard it through the headphones and thought it sounded good; so I recorded it and placed it in the song.

My version of the great Beatles song. It's not too far from the original. I play it in a different key, bit faster, different guitar/uke strum pattern, use more percussion and have none of the guitar riffs or piano from the original. It is a favourite of mine.

This song was written by Sid Wayne and Bix Reichner It was recorded in June 1958 and released in 1959 after which it reached number 4 on the Billboard charts.  Elvis Presley sang it.
In this version I have changed the tempo, style, rhythm, some words and maybe took it out of the Rock & Roll box and put it into some other box. I used some effects on my uke tracks as well. I had a fun time doing this. The original is one of my favourite songs.

My arrangement of Van Morrison's song is flat out, hard-core, 4 nylon stringed, at times bongo sounding, UKULELE MAYHEM and CARNAGE - lol

The original version is close to my favourite song. In fact I think I rotate my favourite songs and this has been my ultimate fave at many points in time...written in 1963 by Van Morrison and recorded by his band, Them in 1964. It was the B-side song for the single, Baby, Please Don't Go. I LOVE that song too.

Jambalaya (On The Bayou) was first released in 1952...thank you Hank Williams (RIP) for the vision to create it. I first heard it played by Creedence CR then my favourite performer, Fats Domino.

Jambalaya was heavily influenced by another song written in 1948 called Grand Texas (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hz7OfVdIG48) penned by Louisiana born musician Julius Lamperez or as he was known in the music business, Papa Cairo. 

Lyrics (by Hank Williams and maybe Moon Mullican. Moon did get royalties from the song).

I have changed the original words a little bit, left some out and moved things around. I also gave it a different rhythm.
