Exulansis

Tale of a young medieval Queen first imagined in the song ‘From a Queen Falls a Crown’ written in 2021 with @Philleann, which actually gets a few spins on Spotify thanks to being on one of Phil's playlists. 

This is another take on a battle she waged against the reigning King in an attempt to rule far and wide. Tortured and blinded by ambition, she overcommits her spent forces and dooms them to defeat. 

Then, instead of accepting the Kings offer of peace, she schemes to betray his trust and hatches a plot to murder him. When this is discovered, she suffers his wrath.

This song began by Steve writing it on his acoustic guitar, singing it, and passing the recording on to Josh to share with the rest of the Eclectic Collective. Tez was first to add his complimentary guitar in his typical expert fashion. Ken then added his very tasteful drums. Soon after. Josh worked his bass part until it was dialed in. After the Rhythm section was solid, JJ came along and sprinkled his organ magic throughout. Then, for good measure, Josh added some lap steel, too.
  Of course, every great song needs a great producer, and Tez was the man for the job on this one. Steve is a fantastic singer and songwriter. We all feel very lucky that he so generously shares his talent and work with us. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed making it.
