"Micro Jam" (demo v1) 

A short one minute jam or sketch I played this weekend using my 37-key Korg microKEY AIR as a MIDI controller. The VST sounds come from Arturia Mini V4 (Minimoog bass sound), Audiolounge Key Affair 3, Spectrasonics Keyscape, UVI FMX2 XL, Gospel Musicians' Neo-Soul Keys Studio 2 and UVI Emulation III. Drums and the fantastic drum beat come from UVI Beatbox Anthology 2 (The 7o7 kit).

Recorded and mixed in Cubase Pro with significant help from iZotope Neutron. Mastered with Ozone 11.

In the previous version (https://soundcloud.com/michele-ansani/gamma-o) there was excessive sound saturation. I kept only the vocal part (remixed) and redid the piano backing, aiming for a more minimalist result.

I think a good English translation of the original lyrics isn’t easy, but I’ll give it a try.

A heartfelt duet of piano by Roberto Guerra and voice by the luminous Oddrun Eikli, composed by Francesco Adornetto.

In a world that often trembles under the weight of conflict and noise, love remains our quiet rebellion.
A gesture, a word, a melody — sometimes that’s all it takes to remind someone they’re not alone.

These tender lines, written and sung by the beautiful soul of Oddrun Eikli, carry that reminder — and borrow from the timeless words of Emily Brontë, who left us far too soon, yet gifted the world with her poetry:

“He’s more myself than I am.
Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.

A weekend improvisation, dedicated to the turning points in our lives that often show up unexpectedly, after heavy, difficult times.  As you listen to this piece, you will hear the "turning point" emerge in the music around the 3:22 mark.
