My new song is about feeling hope. What is under the man's waist? It could be a huge drum of nuclear waste, or race, or an immature system of society that denigrates poverty. But the man has hope. It's also a form of hope that wants the music to be as beautiful as possible.

The long anticipated;) follow up has arrived.  I begin the song with a brief reprise of "Two Faced" to set the stage.  After the cold and bluster of March, the gentleness of spring and early summer is felt with a walk in the park.
Thank you all for the overwhelming response to my ode to March and especially the interest shown in the little teaser, epilogue now a more complete thought.  As they say, "take time to smell the flowers":)

In a world where grace is born from discipline, and strength is hidden behind every delicate step, "Silk and Iron*"was inspired by the silent poetry of my ballerina students and the beauty of a timeless collaboration with a gifted ballet teacher.

This piece is a tribute to the invisible dialogue between music and dance — between the softness of silk and the resilience of iron.
It flows like fabric through winter air, echoing the passion, fragility, and determination that define the soul of every dancer.

Let yourself be carried by this musical reverie — where each note becomes a step, each silence a breath, and each phrase a pirouette through memory and dream.

This song is dedicated to the children of our world and to the love between them and their parents. Just two and a half chords here, to hold it pure. My lovely daughter Isabel starts with an old children's rhyme about a little butterfly which is searching for a dancer (she sang it about 20 years ago). And my dear friend and musical compagnion Oddrun from Oslo enriches us with her magical vocals and lyrics.

Smile to the Children (Oddrun Eikli, Isabel & Axel Weiß)

The opening is dedicated to the wonderful music of John Coltrane. His ballad 'Naima' was the inspiration for the first part of this tune, played in one take. The second half is a spontaneously created latin jazz impro, played spontaneously in two spontaneous first takes too - on the rhythmic and the solo track. 

'Waters of Life' was generously featured over several months on Neworld TV in New York City (many thanks to Sasha Hohri for the biig support).
