Bondi's finest, Hook N Sling, combines with Sweden's Karin Park for the most eagerly anticipated Axtone release of recent times (possibly ever).

There are certain records in the history of Axtone that have a quick path to release...others that take on a slightly longer journey. It's fair to say 'Tokyo By Night' sits firmly in the latter category, achieving cult status amongst Axtone fans worldwide.
 
Years in the making, the wait has been well worth it; with Axwell's remix leading the charge, proving once again that everyone else is simply following. Having taken on various incarnations in the production stage, one element remained a constant: the beguiling song, written by Hook N Sling and Karin Park.

In Hook N Sling (a.k.a. Anthony Maniscalco ... yes, it's one person!), Axtone welcome an act poised for big things in 2014, with this his first original release on the label after remixing Hard Rock Sofa's underground trailblazer 'Blow Up' back in 2011. Now LA based, Hook is perhaps best known for the singles, 'Take You Higher' with Goodwill, and 'Reason' with NERVO. His recent incendiary collaboration with Empire of the Sun, 'Celebrate', and remixes for Kaskade, Krewella and The Presets have exemplified his own brand of music with dance floor precision, artistic substance and mass appeal.

With Karin, an artist who is certainly ploughing her own path in electronic music with her album 'Highwire Poetry' due for release later this year, they have together crafted a timeless dance floor gem.

Originally released by Musical Freedom, the instrumental edit of 19-year-old Oliver Heldens’ deep house smash ‘Gecko’ has become a staple in club sets for 2014, peaking at #2 in the Beatport chart and garnering support from the likes of Pete Tong, Danny Howard and Zane Lowe. 

The latest edit ‘Gecko (Overdrive)’, written and vocalled by Becky Hill during a late night recording session with MNEK, is being released by Parlophone’s vital new dance imprint FFRR. Initially written for another vocalist, Becky’s towering vocal on Gecko’s chorus was deemed the perfect fit and has already been coined the ‘Hottest Record in the World’ by Zane Lowe.

All These Roads was one of my favorite house tunes to come out last summer so when Atlantic approached me about doing the remix I was pumped - Sam and Zella's vocals are just so perfect for a festival or a warm summer day that I wanted to do the original track justice.  I thought it would be cool to draw an emotional contrast between Sam and Zella's vocals, so the remix starts in D Minor, just as the original was written, but the progression flips to F Major when Zella's vocals come in for the first time, and stays there for the rest of the track.  I think the result is a euphoric build before the first drop, and after road testing this one out for a few months I can say it's as good for the club as it is on a perfect summer day.  

"The sun is getting low // We'll find someplace to call home"

Fun fact about this track - if you don't buy it on iTunes, you're gonna have a dude named SULTAN pissed at you.  Do you really want that?  It's 99 cents to stay on his good side.

THE HUGELY AWAITED THIRD AND FINAL PART OF THE EP TRILOGY OUT THIS SUMMER!

Tritonal are back and better than ever with the third and final chapter of their hugely successful Metamorphic EP series. Due for release on Tritonal's joint venture, London based record Label Enhanced Music, this EP celebrates the landmark 200th release on the legendary Enhanced Recordings imprint "the label that delivers tune, after tune" - Mixmag. Including "Satellite" featuring Jonathan Mendelsohn, "Anchor" and the powerful down-tempo collaboration "Seraphic" with Mr Fijiwiji, the EP is destined for big things and will build on the success of the first two Metamorphic EPs, completing the trilogy and leaving listeners wishing for a fourth chapter!

Continuing on from the dance floor fillers of the two previous releases Metamorphic III does not disappoint. "Satellite" (released 4th August at Beatport) offers the high energy that Tritonal are so famous for, supported by a powerful vocal from Jonathan Mendelsohn and gritty electro melodies and huge synth lines. "Anchor" (released 1st September at Beatport) provides more euphoria alongside the signature Tritonal build, dropping into what is sure to be a huge summer hit and heard throughout festivals and clubs across the globe. The EP shows its versatility with "Seraphic", one of the darkest tracks from the whole Metamorphic series it is an absolute must hear, offering a beautiful contrast to the rest of the EP which completes the full release available in all stores on September 15th.

With the massive success of the Paris Blohm collaboration "Colors" on Nicky Romero's Protocol imprint and the continuing radio exposure of their track "Now Or Never" from part II of the Metamorphic trilogy, "Tritonians" around the world are desperate to catch one of Chad and Dave's notorious, full-throttle DJ sets. With Metamorphic III just around the corner, this is yet another Tritonal release destined to blow up!

Getting a number one single is an extraordinary achievement. Getting two is a whole other level. Even KLF, who literally wrote the book on how to write a #1 hit (The Manual) only managed to do it once. Duke Dumont's talent was first recognized in 2007 when Tiga signed his Regality EP, and further developed through the mentorship of Switch, but for years he seemed destined to stay under-the-radar, another brilliant artist toiling in relative obscurity, his fantastic remixes working wonders on dance-floors while his name was a footnote to the success of bigger names. 

All that started to change in 2012 with For Club Play Only vol I & II on Turbo, with 'Street Walker' getting a swell of underground support and 'The Giver' following up as one of the crossover club hits of the year. His follow-up launch of the Blasé Boys Club label with the #1 hit 'Need U (100%)' propelled him to instant stardom, and incredibly he managed to follow-up in rapid fire with interim single 'Hold On' and then a second #1 in ‘I Got U ft. Jax Jones’. It's an astonishing success story primed to continue with the forthcoming ‘Won't Look Back.'

'Slow Dance' is a guaranteed floor-filler built from a killer bassline, sexy vocal sample, crisp drums and a wiggly acid outro. 'Mumble Man' is another infectious, instantly-gratifying hand-raiser, and possibly the best scat track since Scatman John. 'Nicht Vor Mitternacht' sees the Duke flexing his EDM muscles, foregoing vocals for total synth domination, designed to work with the biggest hiss cannons the world has ever seen. Bonafide stadium wrecker. Finally, 'Drumapella' is a dope DJ tool, a functional weapon to layer in the mix or leave in it's sparse banging glory.

The girl is hard at work on her first album and from what we have heard everything is crack. Bebe is one of the most talented writers we have ever met and dont get us started on her voice. For us the beauty of a good song is a strong melody but also cleverness and Bebe is unmatched in coming up with interesting ways to sing about things that have been sang about forever! When Bebe sent us this song we were floored by its creativity and catchiness and of course were going to Remix it! The song itself was about 140 BPM which was challenging to slow down to 130 but we actually enjoyed the way her voice sounded stretched on the song. We paired it with some strong piano chords and here you have it!"
