ra / sol and babyradium are two sonic exploratory projects of mixed afro-indigenous 2S artist aurora sol, under the imprint atomicnumber88. 

extremely hard to pin down, ra has spent half their life obsessively exploring the various genres, elements, and stories told through the development of electronic music culture from its earliest roots, from the first breaks played at hip hop street parties in new york, to the warehouse in chicago and techno in detroit, to the first jamaican diaspora to bring sound system culture to the uk, to global countercultures all over the world. no stone left unturned. as a journalist by trade and with 12 years of experience behind the decks, ra weaves elements of their journalistic practice into their electronic music praxis through a lens of afrofuturism, indigenous reconnection, global diasporic community, and the notion that underground dance floor culture began as a revolutionary movement that has grown into a global phenomenon. 

ra has facilitated or been involved with a handful of workshops and talks in which they've shared research done over a decade; most notably on a panel at the alberta electronic music conference at the national music centre in calgary in 2019, and for sled island festival in 2022. 

musical alumni of several festivals as well as a variety of diverse events as both a DJ and live performer in western canada, ra now works and resides in montreal as a musician, producer, DJ and researcher and has a variety of projects spanning different genres and projects planned for upcoming release.

With a strong background and knowledge in Hip-Hop music, Heidorgen cultivates his sample based Electronic and UK Garage music in a similar vein to his predecessors. 
Having released on Hot Groovers Records and Strictly Flava's sublabel Strange Times, 2025 will see additional releases from some exciting curators.

2024 saw Heidorgen's release '19Ninety_' peak at #40 on the Hypeddit 'Top 100 House Charts' where it gained him exposure to international fans and collaborators. 

Although his music style has evolved into UK Garage, his love for different genres shines bright and is evident in his song structures and sample selections.
