Another track from the short-lived band Atma, recorded in 2006. This song is based on a riff I played on my six-string bass, using natural harmonics. Shahrokh Poormayamin added other instruments and Amir Jalali came up with the lyrics and vocal melody. So, it's real team work. Enjoy!

ATMA - Abandoned

ATMA was a music project formed in 2006 in Tehran, Iran. Consisting of Babak Riahipour, Shahrokh Pourmayamin and Amir Jalali,  Atma lasted for two years and recorded an album called "Perfect Sensation". Permission to release the album, was denied due to various reasons and Atma gradually disbanded. Now, after nearly five years, I, Babak RP, want to share a few of the tracks with you.
This one is my favorite, because the bass riff, on which the song was written and built on. I hope you enjoy it, as much as we used to do. Thank you - Babak RP

Atma - Doom Your Day

Hi. This is the second ATMA song I would like to share with you. The style of  "Leave The Tears Aside" it's a bit different than "Doom Your Day"; it is heavier and the Bass riff takes the into the realm of Hard Rock &  Metal. But I'm sure (actually I should say I hope you won't be disappointed. I appreciate your comments and your support. Special thanks to all the people, who listened, downloaded and like the first song. Atma - Leave The Tears Aside

This is a song recoded in1996 by the band Avizheh at IRIB (Iranian state television or Seda-va-Sima) studios. The style of the song, written by Babak Riahipour, is ethno fusion, which explains the dominant presence of traditional Iranian instruments, such as Santoor (played by Pedram Derakhshani) and the less known Gheychak (played by Reza Abai). The arrangement is the result of team work, which I enjoyed a lot.
By the way,  Shadmehr Aghili, the famous Iranian singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist,  has contributed the violin parts including a short, beautiful solo. Hope you enjoy it.

For those of you who care, the song starts with 3 basses playing simultaneously (the arpeggio sound is generated by my 6-string bass and a nice delay!).
