THUMP is a Breakspoll-nominated (Best Small Event, 2012) event based in Reading, UK.

Born in March 2007 out of a frustration with the lack of local events and the 'chin-strokey/holier-than-thou' attitude of a lot of underground nights, THUMP quickly established itself through parties with a reputation for wicked resident DJs, big bass, a large dose of silliness and, above all, bouncing around like idiots in front of a ridiculously loud soundsystem!

Since making our home at Reading's Bar Iguana in 2009, THUMP has played host to some of the biggest names in the international breakbeat scene (largely free entry events), whilst also providing a platform for some of the regions very best local DJs to rock out alongside their heroes.

Don't take our word for it though - if you fancy coming down to check out what all the fuss is about, we can be found at Bar Iguana in Reading, on the 3rd Friday of every month! Brapups! :)

              Backdraft have been an integral part of the breakbeat scene for the past 8 years. Supported by everyone from Plump DJ’s, Meat Katie, Rennie Pilgrim, FreQ Nasty to Tayo. With releases on Botchit & Scarper, Passenger, Bassrock & Downbeat this Manchester duo are one of breakbeats veteran acts with a loyal and avid fanbase. Whether they are fusing ragga vocals with electro wobbles, reggae blessed grooves with syncopated beats or just having a laugh, trying to melt the globes bass cones… one thing is always obvious, they do it in style and with passion.
