MÉTIER is the new label from Jack! Who? and his UK based deathtechno.com project that is set to journey into deep, dreamy, dub, techno, acid, electro and ambient that will surprise and delight from release to release.

Collage artwork images are by local artist Grassi Art.

Shifted Minds is the new moniker from Sweden's Mikael Persson aka UBX127 who almost exclusively releases on Len Faki's Figure and Figure SPC, but has also recently appeared on TWR72's new label OOM Records.

This additional alias experiments with a new array of sound design ideas that encompasses classic electronica influences.

"Isotopes" introduces the EP with harmonic synth sweeps and an intergalactic aesthetic.

The second track "Starcharts" focuses on an edgy electro style with squelching, modular tones later complemented by poignant pads and melancholic melodies.

"Soliton" successfully captivates a magical feeling in a mesmerising tapestry of sparse sounds. Using warm, delayed notes and a subtle broken beat to create an epic and inspiring vibe.

Track four "Foreign Influence" opts for a bouncy rhythm made of intriguing percussion hits and wildlife whistles as its sonic foundation that produces vivid imagery.

Fifth and final on the release is "Wormhole" which is an uptempo, rolling techno exploration with huge, euphoric, pulsing waves of analogue pleasure.

With releases on Urban Connections, Abseits Recordings, Diffuse Reality and Bass Agenda Recordings as Nuklear Prophet, the LA-based DJ/producer readies his full-length album ‘Prophecies 11:21’ for Utrecht-based U-Trax. Formed of an eclectic and energetic collection of gems mined from his overwhelming archive, the album takes in genres such as Electro, Hip Hop, Footwork, Juke, and beyond.

Leading the release is the 808 luminary Egyptian Lover’s remix of ‘L.A. Rockz’, featured on the recently released ‘L.A. Rockz’ EP, kicking off the LP with his trademark 808-infused sound. A nod to Detroit-flavoured Electro is presented via the dark and brooding tracks ‘Nuklear Prophet’, ‘808 Plague’, and ‘Compton’, with the lighter atmospherics of the genre covered on ‘Solar Winds’.

‘Everlastin’ Bass’, ‘Back Up Off My Tip’, and ‘The Train Ride To Coconino’ offer Footwork inspired bangers, with the latter previously featured on the Legowelt curated U-Trax compilation ‘U R Here!’ earlier this year. Moving across a spectrum of tempos, styles, and moods across the album, exemplified on the sluggish trip-hop of ‘The Mars Goblin’, Nuklear Prophet expertly touches on a range of bass-driven genres, displaying his widespread influences and knack for hard-hitting production throughout.

Hailing from downtown Los Angeles, Nuklear Prophet, aka Erik Villalpando, is heavily influenced by West Coast Hip Hop and Electro. Winning multiple DJ awards, including 3x World Records DJ Competition under his DJ Dope-E alias, Villalpando cites his inspiration as coming from some of the most influential Los Angeles DJs of his childhood, including Tony G, DJ Joe Cooley, Julio G, and DJ Aladdin.

The debut release from Jon Selbo on his label, Troubleshoot, consists of a three-track EP built for the club. From rave-infused electro to pumping 140 BPM techno, Selbo keeps the dancefloor in mind at all times with TRBLSHT001, set to arrive on May 6th.
“Inside” showcases Selbo’s affinity for using samples in his productions, with a distorted, chopped-up vocal laid over a driving bassline and heavily processed drums that live slightly further afield from classic drum machine sounds. The track progresses with gated pads and filter tweaks, emphasising the dark, heads-down feel of this club stomper.

PREMIERE | Jon Selbo - Inside [Troubleshoot] 2022

Martin Matiske's superb new six-track EP Circle Of Enlightenment on LDI Records is based around the concept of one-mindedness and togetherness and aims to describe the direct connection between human beings and the universe.

 

This German artist was fascinated with mixing records as early as his 10th birthday and had his first release on the legendary International Deejay Gigolo Records aged just 15. In the 20 years since he has released a selection of records on labels like Moustache Records and Bordello A Parigi. His timeless sound comes with a vintage touch and always fuses electro, Italo and techno in fresh new ways.

 

Circle Of Enlightenment is a brilliantly adventurous and storytelling new EP from the ever-excellent Martin Matiske.

Biography 
Anyone who approaches Techno music with intelligence and finesse is exactly in the right place with C.7even, because the young Frankfurt-native has her craft down to a tee. She found her way intoelectronic music back in 2009, shaped by many musical genres. Contrary to many others, her style is constantly evolving and driven by the passion to constantly reinvent herself.Groovy-melodic, mystic- hypnotic, straightforward-uncompromising- this is what she embodies, but she still has always a clear vision    her mind of the story that she wants to tell through the medium of electronic sounds. “A DJ set has to make sense to me, Im no fan of the approach to just step behind the decks and blindly improvise my way through my playtime- Im always aware of what it is that I want to convey to my audience. That moment, when you ignite that spark in your audience- when the dancefloor really lets loose and people follow your leadership- that feeling just cannot be bought, that’s why I personally prefer longer sets (4-5 hours or more) over short and compressed playtimes. You can unfold and spread your wings so much more, and the connection between you and your audience gets so much deeper and more intense. In terms of own productions, C.7even doesn’t have anything official under her belt yet- but she doesn’t have to, because good stuff takes his time and her sets more than speak for themselves.“im really not a patient person, that’s why I might need more time than others to complete projects. But I refuse to give in to outside pressure- nowadays everybody says “you have to produce, you have to promote events, you have to dothis and you have to do that in order to progress...„I rather focus on the things that I am good at and what I can represent and stand by to 100%,I wont tolerate a flood of releases and half-assed stuff. That’s why my general rule is: “less is more.”Anyone who likes to go on a sonic journey through many facets of House & Techno, who likes to let loose in a tightly woven atmosphere and anyone who prefers sophisticated music over anything mainstream-take the leap of faith and and immerse yourself into the world of C.7even. UK based imprint Bade Records kicks off the spring with ‘Annexe’ EP from co-founders James Sison and Edward Antonio with a remix by Italian duo Hiver.

Brothers Black is the new moniker from Bade Records co-founders James Sison and Edward Antonio. Following from James’ success with his ‘Stolen’ EP on the imprint last year, the two have formed a new alias from which they will release their material. Drawing on their combined influences and tastes, Brothers Black is a techno-orientated project that fully demonstrates the maturing sound of the two producers. The EP has acid influences throughout. The A-side ‘Take Down the Pads’ is a dark rolling peak time tune that combines cinematic soundscapes with rough percussion and frantic acid arpeggios. The B-side, ‘Egyptian Magic’, showcases the more deep, hypnotic facets of their production in another peak-time groover for the early hours of the morning. The C-side and title track ‘Annexe’ is a deep and restrained acid journey.

The remix comes from Italian duo Hiver. Giuseppe and Sergio have found great success with their prior releases on Curle and Bokhari and offer their interpretation of the title track ‘Annexe’, taking the soundscapes and creating an undeniable groover that is sure to set any dance floor alight.
