We welcome @graceschella an active member of the electronic music scene in Vienna, Austria who is known for her diverse and eclectic taste behind the decks for the thirty fourth edition of the podcast series. I have really been enjoying revisiting this mix for repeat listens this week so am very excited to share it with you.

In this episode of F.B.I. Patholgy Report we explore the 1948 Japanese Imperial Bank Mass Cyanide Poisoning incident that occured at Shiinamachi [Toshima,Tokyo], which led to the arrest and conviction of painter & artist Hirasawa Sadamichi [平沢貞通]. Despite the lack of evidence, he was sentenced to death in 1950, awaited execution by hanging, and eventually died of natural causes in 1987. There have been numerous theories, rumors & sayings that a man posing as a Government Health worker ordered the victims to drink the poison, in order to protect themselves from a hypothetical incoming outbreak of dysentery, while others are arguing crime was committed by a soldier/member of Unit 731 [:Covert biological, chemical warfare research & development unit of the Imperial Japanese Army that engaged in lethal human experimentation and biological weapons manufacturing during the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937–1945) and World War II]. His DJ sets are journeys into the varied shades and tones of dance music. His live sets fuse dub techno, electro and ambience.

Paul has released music on Exalt Records, Diffuse Reality, Roulette Rekordz, Pulse State, CyberSoul and his own labels Hierophant Dubs & Hierophant Records. Forthcoming music for 2024 includes the final part of the Watching the Decoys trilogy and other music for old friends and new labels; the journey continues...

Paul also hosts the “State of Play” radio show, broadcast monthly on @threadsradio and existing on (and off) air since 1990, ad-hoc but always focused on “electronics with soul and soulful electronics”.

As with all my live sets, there’s a lot of improvisation involved and I strive to make the music varied and immersive so we can go on a deep journey with our emotions and bodies.
