As the year winds down, we wanted to send you off with a bang – a deep, rumbling bang delivered straight from the Utrecht underground by the one and only Vand. We've known this sonic sorcerer for ages, watching him transform from a bright Dutch talent to an artist whose output has been recognized and cherished in underground scenes worldwide. 

Over the years, Vand has made a reputation for himself as a producer who is equally prolific working alongside like-minded piers like Bas Dobbelaer, Alfred Czital, and Shoal, as well as working solo where he conjures deep, dubby adventures that twist and turn like Escher sketches, always one step ahead of the dancefloor drone.
Releases on labels like Something Happening Somewhere, Nyame, Alpenglühen, Harmony Rec, and Konstrukt speak for themselves. 

Speaking of labels, Vand just launched ISOTOOP, a sonic beacon birthed from the ashes of a great event collective (initially founded by Van Anh and featuring Ben Buitendijk, Shoal, and Koen Hoets). Their debut, a Vand & Shoal juggernaut called Voal, has been on heavy rotation in our HQ and has found its way to crates of many DJs worldwide.

With that fresh fire in our ears, we present you with Vand's mix for us – a darkroom dub journey built for late-night explorations. Buckle up because this isn't a stroll in the park; it's a 200km/h Autobahn voyage on cruise control, smooth as silk yet peppered with enough twists and turns to keep your heart hammering. Deep bass dives will massage your soul, dubby echoes will swirl around your head, and when you think you've got it figured out, Vand throws in a curveball that'll leave you grinning like a Cheshire cat.
This mix is a reminder that the best journeys often take you to unexpected places. And hey, who knows what 2024 holds for Vand and ISOTOOP? One thing's for sure: we'll be right here, front row and center, ready to lose ourselves in the sound.

Cafe de la Jungle is a project created by Tomasz K Zajac to explore his fascination with shamanic practices in highly dynamic sound environments creating cutting-edge contemporary electronic music. Known for his musical adaptability, he experiments with merging acoustic, analogue, and digital realms. By digging into many genres, he draws inspiration from a wide range of word music, including African, Arabic, and Indian influences contributing to his musical output's unique and multifaceted nature.

His ability to seamlessly fuse techno, leftfield, bass, and ambient music elements showcases an artist who yields a unique sound marked by rhythms inspired by ancient traditions, exotic instrumentation, and vibrant textures. His work, released under his imprint Dans Records, has received acclaim from respected media outlets such as Orb Mag and Juno, leading his music to find a home on Polygonia's label, QEONE.

The next episode is a one hour ode to the psychedelic breaks- going into a deep journey through tribal steps, dark dubbed rhythms and meditative drums. @amanita_p digged through her favourite labels to pick some of the finest mental psy-breakers- setting off for a journey in the depth of druid-steps.

Amanita is a Bologna-raised, Berlin-based dj, party organizer and scenographer. Proud mommy of Sinestesie- collective and DIY party series based in Italy, and Carpet Airlines- experimental cosy-dance oor/slow-rythms winter event series in Berlin. 

She hosts Morning Mantra, a monthly radio show on Radio Alhara where she explores the left  eld side of ambient and has fun with the most odd records digged  around.  

Amanita’s sound expands rhizomatically in a progressive & psychedelic galaxy suspended somewhere in between space and forests. With a particular a  ection for trancy rhythms and a pitching-down tendency, her music journeys are full of trippy loops, ritual atmospheres and gender-bender touches.  

Ambient, downtempo and dance  oor are all parts of the same mycelium,  contaminating each other while existing in di  erent dimensions.  She believes dancing is never about the speed of sound, neither listening about the absence of rhythm- but about the soulful depths of music, combined to the alchemic magics of the narrative process.
