And I secretly and tremendously appreciated the taste and built for music. These guys are great producer for sure but they come to transpose their art into proper sets that make as much sense here online as on real life with a proper floor to welcomes the kicks.

He has a solid array of great releases on respected labels such as Klasse Wrecks, BFDM, Emotional Response etc..
He's also a founding member of Warning Berlin, on point party promoters and label, and former A&R for Aiwo rec.
Together with DJ Brada he launched a new label called 'Mana Abundance'  which is focused on the more tripped out side of electronics in homage to Fantasy and Sci-Fi literature.

Space Dimension Controller is the moniker of Jack Hamill, it is a moniker which has served him well over many years having released some of the most innovative, unique and exciting electronic music of the past decade.

Originally from Belfast, he has drawn upon inspiration from 80’s funk, neon lights, video games and beyond – blurring the lines between influences to create cutting edge dance music with one foot in the past and a one in the future. He has released arguably some of the best ‘dance’ albums of this generation and has appeared on pivotal labels such as Ninja Tune, Royal Oak and Dekmantel.


 
Whilst some of his music is cinematic by nature, his recent focus has been towards the clubs having been releasing material most prominently through his own recently launch label Tiraquon Records.

This has since been expanded upon with his latest outing coming in the form of an EP for Will Saul’s longstanding AUS Records.

As a DJ you never quite know what to expect from a Space Dimension Controller set – this is perhaps a testament to his vast, sprawling musical knowledge and keen desire to connect the dots between styles and genres.

Space Dimension Controller: The Ransom Note Mix

Whenever you listen to a Dazion (@thedazion) DJ set or new club track, you can hear how much fun he has with his music. The Hague man likes it rough and ready whether making bleep techno, acid breaks or new beat with whatever bit of forgotten hardware he can find. He's done so on labels including Second Circle, Safe Trip and Animals Dancing and always manages to capture the essence of what made the rave days so glorious while updating it with his own leftfield character. Next up for him is Grooveboxxx, a new album on Dekmantel that pays homage to The Hague’s 80s and 90s club scene all made with just one bit of "entry-level gear," the Roland MC-303 Groovebox.

Dazion opens this week's mix with a custom introduction inspired by the old Turn up the Bass TV spots and takes in some jams on that same MC-303 and a serval rips from early 90s rave CDs. It starts rather dreamy and serene before cracking up through the gears to get more weird. High energy rhythms, flailing percussive patterns and bulbous basslines all make for a helluva ride.

Lis Sarroca's sound bridges the past and the present. Both future-facing and old school, you'll find the Barcelona-based artist crafting music that's brimming with soul and groove. She draws from the expansive realms of house music, touching on the deep, the soulful and the acidic, whilst sometimes dipping her toe into Balearic and Italo. 

As is for many, music has always been a means for Lis to confidently express herself, which she's done so on releases for acclaimed labels like Hot Haus Recs, Mobilee Records, Shall Not Fade, Chiwax and !K7. Set on having a platform for her own music, and for artists and friends of a similar musical mindset, she launched her own label venture last year, Maai Records, which has housed two records of her own and two VA releases, the newest of which will drop on 18th November.

These achievements haven't come without graft - as a DJ she's been in the game for over 15 years, picking up her first pair of CD players back in 2007. Her DJing is entwined with her love of travelling, be it digging out dusty gems in undiscovered places or making new connections with like-minded artists - she takes inspiration from every experience and feeds it back into her own music.

After being introduced to Lis at our Barbarella's takeover earlier this year we knew she had to partake in our mix series. So here it is, a club-ready collection of pumping and energetic house (in the loosest sense) to get you primed and ready for the weekend... Thursday is the new Friday after all.
