Nice Music presents the debut solo recording from ethnomusicologist, multi-instrumentalist and member of Melbourne/Naarm post-punk quartet Hexdebt, Isobel D'Cruz aka Hantu.

Carefully recorded and assembled in just one month following a year of global and internal uncertainty, 'Zither EP' flowers into life as a coy travelogue through lonely late nights and one's own inevitably distorted reflection. Its backbone a mellifluous interplay between kinetic field recordings and itinerant zither motifs, D'Cruz augments this story with bass, flute and additional production and instrumentation from Collected Dust.

A waterlogged, wordless dictaphone diary, flat on its back. A panorama from the hill at 5am, of what's not yet tomorrow.

Gavilán Rayna Russom (@gavilanraynarussom), boss witch at Voluminous Arts, takes the helm of Moods this November with a collection of recordings from study trips she has taken to Cuba that feature Cuban musicians. Having released music extensively under her own name, aliases like Black Meteoric Star, Hail of Arrows and Gavin Russom, and collaborations like Black Leotard Front and The Crystal Ark—as well as touring with LCD Soundsystem—Russom’s approach to music moves past genre, gender, and frameworks, and her acute ears have collected recorded live sounds and music from Cuba for her mix.

We are back with a late happy new year to everyone, greeting the new cycle with another sonic journey; Basel based artist Mirrorange is collecting and researching ambient music in many different forms since years, but just recently started to share this desire and explorations with a broader public. As a producer he is heavily influenced by ambient textures, implementing them into various other genres in which he projects the information sucked up in daily life. 
In this episode the music becomes a vessel for overlapping fieldrecordings, audio-snippets from movies and distorted soundscapes. A journey set to drift into unclear waters as it questions humanity’s role in the development of the machine, opposing cyborg reflections about their ancestors with the sheer ambivalence and vastness of human emotion; a swirl of joy and woe depicting the human complexity, accelerated by the possibilities of their technological creations.
