Øbsidiaän is a duo project formed by the Mexican-born, Barcelona-based artists Hector Tlaseca and Yves Del Rio.

They produce their own music which they perform live as well as delivering solid and consistent DJ sets, where they explore sounds, rhythms and textures ranging from Ambient to Techno.

As part of their sonic exploration, they also run the label “Feinkost Records” aiming to give an outlet to like-minded artists with a serious proposal in music making.

Trippy atmospheres combined with soothing ambient techno tracks are to be expected from this selection, where the artists portray a high diversity of tracks and emotions.

CODECAST X - Øbsidiaän - Sensory Perception

58th episode with a personal favorite.

Non-Print label head and producer Głós (@prayforglos) wants to create something outside of the conforming realm of Techno. He has already reinvented his early work through his first album, and his lucid yet straight-to-the-point productions continue to reveal a rarefied character. 

Głós (pronounced ‘Gwos’) has made a point out of not following the sometimes linear Techno patterns with his artistry. He comes from a band-focused Rock-environment and runs his own label, arranged to be a wildly experimental project. In his earlier years, Głós was in several ways a close contributor to the Ressort Imprint label—founded by fellow producer Ekserd—since its start in 2013, already then having left his native Poland to become a Berlin citizen. 

Głós’s successive platform, his very own label Non-Print, released his debut album ‘Fem’ in September 2018—marking the exact five year anniversary date of his first EP, ‘There Is No One Like You’ (Ressort Imprint, 2013). The producer describes it as ‘a collection of re-works as well as new material without any creative limitations’. ‘Fem’ is presented as one continuous mix—with each of the tracks being available in their own individual entity. 

As a producer and performer, Głós’s background, which is a very hands-on analogue way of working—recording for example distorted keyboards and guitars—continues to influence his music. The industrial rawness of these elements are still present in his Techno, only now existing mantled by a softer Drone- and Ambient-type of layer. Głós portrays filmic scenes in his music. You are surely guided by the kick-drum, but the productions are spatial—distant rave signals and voices echo in a fantasy-like landscape. 

His live performances are often a hybrid of his own work and others. The Techno is pure Głós, but in various parts he manipulates selected Ambient pieces, making them his own for his distinctive shows. Again a situation where Głós’s live band-background plays a big part. 

‘World Enough’ is the Berliner's seventh and latest album released on Joachim Spieth's Affin imprint, showcasing a different approach of Głós opposed to his more up-beat productions made for the dance floor.

Ma haiping is one of the most active artists of China's techno scene. For the past decade he has been releasing on massive labels such as "Axis", "Molecular" and "Seclusion". His music has been recommended by Jeff Mills, Ben Sims, Ken ishii, Dvs1, Rodhad, Kriztoken, Rene wise, Setaoc_mass.

He is now delivering us an hour of hypnotic and mental techno for this month’s Black Owls podcast channel.

Self-meditation is an important aspect of IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapy which had a profound impact on my life. 

Self is our internal energy, known as a source or soul. Self is in every one of us. It can't be damaged or broken. It's the source of our compassion, courage, curiosity, and connectedness. It has healing potential in all the parts of our psyche.

When we access more Self within us we can hear and connect with ourselves and with others. We are more grounded so to speak. 

Some time ago I stumbled upon this meditation by Darshan Stevens and as an experiment I put on a techno beat. After a year of this experiment, I believe it's about time to share this tune with you.

Self Meditation (Original Mix)

Un live de CaraduSanto es, cuanto menos, una excelente manera de comenzar nuestra serie de podcasts por ser ejemplo de búsqueda y refinamiento en el ámbito sonoro. 

Se trata de un músico electrónico con base en Málaga cuyo enfoque y técnicas musicales se fundamentan en el uso de sintetizadores modulares como herramientas compositivas. 

Estos dispositivos, tienen la capacidad de generar estructuras complejas en el flujo de la señal de audio, lo que contribuye significativamente al carácter distintivo de su música.

Al adentrarnos en su obra, emerge una sensibilidad melódica y una dinámica carga emocional, la cual es revelada de manera evidente a la escucha. 

Se percibe afinidad por estilos como el IDM, Ambient y Drone, entre otros pilares de la música electrónica caracterizados por su libertad de expresión.

Otro aspecto identificativo de su diseño surge de su trayectoria como cantante y guitarrista en bandas hardcore del pasado, lo cual es punto clave a la hora de familiarizar la densidad sonora que barniza las capas de sus composiciones.

Destacamos sus tres últimos trabajos: el EP "Hablamos contigo en los cielos", que fue presentado el año pasado en la sala Siroco de Madrid en el Moments Festival, colaborando junto a la banda Lazharus, y el álbum "Diciembre", publicado en el sello Oigovisiones en formato casete, compartiendo cinta con el artista catalán @structweird. En el sello Undancelrecords, aporta su primera referencia en "UDE001", de formato 12”, con su tema "Semillas". 

Si quieres contemplar su música en vivo, este sábado estará actuando en la Caverna de Amores, en el festival Claro (Málaga) junto a diversos artistas que se prestan en apoyo de la cultura local.

Tony aka Balanca is a Berlin-based DJ and producer. Influenced by the loop-driven techno of the early 2000s, Tony initially performed under various pseudonyms—first on vinyl and later also digitally. Always rooted in deep grooves, his sound has evolved into a hypnotic techno drive—so hypnotic, in fact, that in 2022 he created his “Balanca”-Project.

The name “Balanca” comes from the Romanian word for his zodiac sign, Libra, and perfectly captures his musical ethos: precision-balanced, deeply driving techno that lulls and pulses in equal measure. His driving deep-techno sets unfold a hypnotic character through dynamic mixing and meticulous track selection, drawing dancers into a trance where every beat feels both relentless and profoundly intimate.
