Joe Morris seemed to come out of nowhere until I realized he was in front of me all along, as part of the Clandestino crew who put out a handful of nu-balearic joints on wax that I was checking in the late teens and on 12” singles for quirky & adventuresome labels like Pleasure Unit, Is It Balearic? & Wonder Stories. When his 2019 full-length album Exotic Language launched Joe’s Shades Of Sound label and a collab with local homie Cole Odin, I was all-in! SOS has been firing on all cylinders recently, and when Joe reached out we realized he’d be perfect for the first international guest on the mix series since the relaunch. 

A lovely journey through languid afternoons on a hot beach, nostalgic throwbacks to the good old days, obscure 80s blue-eyed funk, AOR groovers, foreign versions of beloved heaters, heady ambience, some Spanish guitar (natch!) and a heap of Balearic feelings are what this mix is all about.
