This week we have the rising star that is Faster Horses. He has been totally killing it since his first release only just a few months ago, and has dialed in his signature sound early on. His new project Seikan has just came to life with an impressive roster full of anthemic bangers, namely his own track 'Transitional Outerwear' which didn't take long to make it's way through the sound system of several clubs after the release went public. One to watch, like we say a lot, but this time we mean it - you will be hearing much more from this young artist in coming months and beyond. Enjoy!

"What can I say about this mix? I was still trying to figure out the IDs of the tracks myself as this mix was done, but I gave up pretty fast. There’s no point in finding my way back as this was made in a pretty spontaneous way. As for the selections, there’s a lot of new stuff, some really ancient tunes, and some punky mashups, all glued together into a vulgar display of grooves. This mix is basically all about flow and grooves and to make your inner Rubber Johnny step out of his comfort zone."

For the final half of this set, I moved into playing harder and faster industrial grooves, including a number of new and old tracks from myself, then flowed back in to the funky grooves and finally into some classic Jungle and DnB,

Hailing from Leeds in the north of the UK, Balrog (Alex) is an artist whose style focuses on heavy rolling drums, driving bass lines, and distorted vocals. His tracks take influence from classic funky and groove focussed techno but with a fresh injection of modern industrial power. Focussing on this signature sound of industrial groove techno has seen him release on labels including Soma, Ear To Ground, Hydraulix, Crisis Of Man, Player, NAKT, Instruments Of Discipline, Moments In Time and Green Fetish.

The industrial groove sound also characterises Balrog’s high-energy DJ sets which have seen him headline events in cities such as New York, Berlin, London, Leeds, Manchester, Budapest, Glasgow, and more.

Balrog also runs his own record label, Khazad Records, which releases music from the very best industrial groove and hard techno talent around.

In addition to his Balrog alias, Alex also also plays and produces under, The Groovemeister General, focussing exclusively on moulding together deep, funky and grooving house and techno records.
