Founded in 2020 Future Avenue is an electronic music imprint which operates under the Sound Avenue umbrella. Sitting alongside fellow subdivisions 3rd Avenue and Crossfade Sounds, Future Avenue looks to provide a home for new and rising talent. With an ethos centred around progressive music and its surrounding derivatives, the label is a platform which gives up and coming artists a chance to showcase their music alongside established veterans as they carve out their own musical identity.

Sharif Laffrey can charm the snake out of any basket. This is his first offering for the ESP Institute. Side A’s 'Tangier' is a long drawn-out exercise, an endurance test of the highest order. Over the span of some thirteen minutes, elements bob and weave intermittently and layers overlap haphazardly—the type of exciting dynamic that's born out of restriction—as if putting down a live jam without enough hands to work the console, yet Sharif perseveres. As touch and go as this arrangement may be, there is something that undoubtedly glues it all in place; the combination of his massive rolling 16th-note baseline and his tough-as-nails drumkit is so good that, upon first listen, we spat out our tea and insisted on its release. On side B, 'Everything Is Nice' carries on with loose arrangement, dirty production and layers of inexplicable spoken-word samples (a Sharif calling card by now) but this time we're lead to a melancholy place, the blue comedown to Side A's antagonistic trial. With his ESP Institute debut, Sharif leaves you mentally unhinged, as if you’ve smoked something interesting and arrived bewildered in some Saharan labyrinth. These two songs will guide you through the medina to score the black meat.

With 2 tracks by The Hague’s JEANS and 2 more by Italian duo Younger Than Me this one is dedicated to the ravers. 
First track by Jeans is ‘Grand Theft Mind Explorer’, a race car journey full of various breaks and melodies into the 4th dimension. The second track ’Nohzdyve’ sounds like a spring tune on a hardcore clubnight. The peaktime beat slowly fades into a sweet and nicely confusing end. 
Younger Than Me’s ‘BaRave’ has some classic UK rave elements; the signature drums are accompanied by a happy end of the day melody. This track asks for a perfect sunset.
‘Dirty Sex’ is the different one, a vocal track for darkrooms. Contains the beautiful voice of Justine.

The Chica is one of the Latinoamerican female voices that has been stirring up her heart and voice for several years. The Chica is an exaggeration of reality, a mix, a mutation. She has unleashed her madness in Mendoza's "Porno Party” and other parties such as "Club Sauna" and "Recreo Festival" in Santiago, Chile. Two years ago she released her debut album “Soy Fan” with the DDR label, and last year she also released her second title “Paradancers” through Discos Pato Carlos, on this occasion we are proud to let go and enter deeper in her delirium with her latest release “GRRR”. Le Jeune Flück, aka Lucas Lejeune and Carsten Fluck, make richly textured electronic music, with influences ranging from classic rave films to their local city's legacy as a home to sharp, cutting techno. Their new EP 'Disbelieve' is the follow up to 2016's 'Feonix' EP on Moonboutique records and features three original tracks ranging from emotive electro bombs to driving acid techno. 

As well as their own productions, Lejeune and Fluck have assembled a top class of exciting and inventive producers from across the continent, including Norwell, DJCJ, Dimitri Veimar, and Koloman Trax, for four atmospheric and pulsating remixes.

After a family affair of SoHaSo's first NOWHERE installment the Amsterdam label around head-honcho Nuno Dos Santos is set to release the second part of the series bringing not only artists but different styles together. NOWHERE02 includes music from label mainstays like Ian Pooley or David Ellesmere as well as new cuts from aspiring artists such as Tjade or w1bo or long term musicians like Tripeo or Mark Du Mosch. The latter and Rotterdam-based beat-maker delivers flashy insights into his creative being and delivers a track that unites the beauty of an old-school bass line with  a still funky and groovey note and tops it with deep, charming and intriguing chords that keep the listener hooked throughout the take. In A Flash (e) is somewhat of a dubby approach that unfolds its full potential over a housey clattering bass line, which is designed to roll over those (shut down) dance floors.

Radioblog 09.09.2020 - Kaluara Vol 1

BAR was a forward thinking nightclub in downtown Rotterdam with a progressive approach to electronic music. Located in the Schieblock, a multipurpose building for the creative economy, at only 200 meters from Central Station. BAR closed it's doors on June 30th 2019. 

The spirit of BAR lives on through the recordlabel and hostings at various clubs and festivals.
