I didn't follow the planned order of the tracks, so take the list order below with a pinch of salt.

I was invited to DJ for the hotel's nordic conference in Stockholm - Different rooms, different themes. One of the themes was "Berghain".
Didn't manage to make a recording live but here I tried to recreate it. Photo here from that evening.

Thanks (not) to rekordbox for stopping my recording before it's finished.
Broke all my rules in this recording - one artist more than one time (I cringe thinking I did it) - played Sierra - played tracks for too long - bad mixing sometimes - played tracks that don't fit the mix... Hopefully you can dance a bit to this ^^.

Ethan Fawkes - Funky Raver [Polymorphism Records // pm005]

Belgian producer and DJ Ethan Fawkes returns with Funky Raver, a vibrant six-track vinyl release that channels the spirit of 70s funk and disco through a modern electronic lens. It features three originals alongside remixes from Victor Muerte, A.Fruit and Nite Fleit.

Fawkes, known for pairing raw rhythm with emotional punch, dives headfirst into the golden age of groove and rebuilds it for today’s dance floor. The result feels warm and energetic, fresh take that nods to disco’s roots while pushing forward.

Each remixer takes the core idea in a new direction without losing its heartbeat.

Victor Muerte takes "Funky Raver" track into a remix out a driving techno rework marked by hypnotic whiper repetition. It taps into the darker side of the groove, building steady pressure and giving the release a powerful late-night edge.

A.Fruit flips her version of "Get the Groove" into a fast, broken beat-driven workout full of tight percussion and futuristic low-end, giving the original a kinetic bass-forward storm that keeps the momentum surging.

Nite Fleit, the producer with a reputation for bold, genre-blending club tracks, injects her remix with electro pressure. She delivers a high-voltage version of "I Misplaced You" to take that turns the funk foundations into pure rave.

Taken together, the originals and remixes trace a full arc, from glittering disco lights to the throb of the warehouse. Funky Raver is a celebration of groove, motion and emotion. A reminder of how timeless dance-floor energy can be.

Growing up surrounded by various genres, his passion for electronic music took root starting with bands like Big Audio Dynamite, The Shamen, and more. Influenced by a diverse range of artists and genres, Barely Vertical developed a unique and eclectic style that sets him apart in a world of look-a-like djs.

Barely Vertical has an exceptional ability to seamlessly blend different musical elements into a cohesive and captivating soundscape. Whether its fusing deep house and dub techno or infusing melodic grooves with acid basslines, his sets are an exhilarating sonic voyage that keeps dancefloors packed and people dancing.

His primary love is to DJ and is known for his epic 4 hour daybreak sets. His newer live performances have melded downtempo and acid into a unique sound that can only be described as that point when the walls start to shimmer.
