Yes, it's 'busy'.. ~ challenging perhaps.. this is intentional ~ I like to see how far I can take weaving melodies, riffs; counterpoint.. (perhaps my next recording might be less frenetic?)  
As I've stated elsewhere, I don't write the songs, ~ they write me, or rather, they write themselves..
 
I've used 'Castles' as a vehicle to return to music.. and in re-recording and rewriting this song I've undergone a huge learning curve.. re-Learning how to sing.. how to play.. how to record.. Ableton, Cubase.. feck.. 
Strangely I haven't had to 're-learn' composition, ~ as I've stated elsewhere, I don't write the songs, ~ they write me, or rather, they write themselves..

Every day, every night I've been trying with all my might, I've been cyberactivatin' and trying to shed some light on all the problems man, that I can see.. Now I realise it's got to start with me. I could rant, I could rave, 'til I hit my grave, about star bangled spanners and corporate slaves consumer units, man.. But at least while I'm free.. I've got to be the change that I want to see.. And I know. Yes, I know. it's my problem too.. I cannot shirk responsibility..  I've got to be the change that I want to see..

Freshman acoustic guitar, Behringer B5 and C2 Microphones, Yamaha MG10XU Mixer, Novation Launchkey mkIII, Ableton Live Lite 11, Cubase AI 12, a lot of thought.. many many listens.. huge learning curve, shitloads of patience.. countless problems and glitches, technical crises.. and most importantly.. huge dollops of Love.. 
I forgot to mention: Time. This recording has taken a long time because I've had to relearn everything. So this process began, again in June 2023 when I decided to 'Do it all over again.. One more time..' 
The learning curve has also included learning to sing and play guitar again (!), and learning how to record.. So, yeah, time.. and love..

(and as such, they're raw, and not in any way polished or 'produced'.. so for the moment this is raw songwriting as it happens stuff..) some are new, some from a way back..  asking to be played again.. they're like children.. growing.. : ) Time to breathe new life into these song children.. (what I've been doing is akin to sending yer kids out in tatty togs!) Sorry kids! I am on it! Promise! :)

Excerpt from my (musical) cv:  I've worked and played with Stu Jones, Joe Gallagher, Parvinder Bharat, Sen Gallagher, Roland Chadwick, Dave Stewart of Eurythmics, Surinder Sandhu, Paul Lockley, ColdCut and Dreadzone, Mel Jones, amongst many others... too humorous to mention..
I collaborated and played with Dave Stewart, (Eurythmics/SweetDreamsAreMadeofThis) Coldcut and Dreadzone on the World’s first Tri-Continental multicast; broadcast live simultaneously over three continents, via the Internet, Radio and TV.. for the BBC's Tomorrow's World TV programme.
I arranged, produced, and played on the World's first non-stop two hour live acoustic radio session - one of the last live shows at what was the BBC's iconic Pebble Mill for BBC Radio's Ben Turner.. with Joe Gallagher, Stu Jones and other members of the Jamplant.
I've also played numerous other live sessions for BBC Radio, including BBC Radio, BBC Radio Yorkshire, WM, Radio WCR.. etc etc, The Sheep Music Festival, Wolverhampton Civic & Wulfrun Halls, and between 2002  - 2006 I played and ran live music nights, - the now legendary Jamplant - encouraging and showcasing new musical talent in Wolverhampton and Barnsley, totting up 600 live performances! Pheww..
I also play with words, lyrics, images.. visuals.. and philosophise a good deal. ..about tea mostly.. I have also been known to play a fine and unique selection of self-penned and 'cover material' for a very reasonable fee, and have been known to captivate audiences with jolly enjoyable slices of banter, scintillating repartee.. and by just by being rather splendid company!
