Step into a warped dimension of stealth and intricacy and embrace the mystique of Barry Koota's debut EP, “Perception Deception”. The title track kicks things off with with a smooth and subtle stomp that seems to put the listener into the shoes of a ninja in the Sahara desert, sneakily moving along and progressing with groove and precision, combining a solid bassline with Eastern melodies. “The Yurn to Gurn” is as cheeky as the title suggests, and it takes a lot of energy not to smile whilst consuming its musical goodness. The tightness of the drums along side a defiant melody line is merged with finely plucked sample cuts to deliver the works. Hook Shot brings the EP to an energetic climax. The impeccably roaring bass sounds are complimented by ground shattering drops and weaved together with the distorted retro vibe of the track. Perception Deception is an EP that truly evolves track to track, sneaking up until it encapsulates all of your senses like you couldn't perceive. It's a very good introduction to one of Australia's most promising glitch hop talents.

With the sneakily clever and creative placement of sounds and samples that comes from making Prog as One Tasty Morsel, this project is a well-rounded product of a variety of production experiences and a large range of influences. The result is a bouncy and refined sound that progresses a lot more rapidly and subtly than many others writing at this tempo, thus pushing the boundaries and conventions of glitch-hop. As Barry Koota emerges, dance floors, gurns and head nods are prone to become more large and ridiculous when taking in these well-constructed grooves

From an early discovery of passion for music through bands, the attendance of outdoor electronic festivals sparked the love for intelligent dance music and the bush festival scene.  

Having played for years at many well standing local festivals such as NYX Festival, Orin Aya X Zero DB, and many other local festivals/party’s creating a name for himself, the project has now shifted into the full swing production side of things. 

With a fresh arsenal of originals to debut, he is ready to navigate the dance floor with his signature old school FNQ bush prog sound.
