Hello to all. I'm Coleman Lindberg and I'm an indie/folk/pop-type singer/songwriter based in St. Paul, MN. I got my start in the church, singing in choir and arranging hymns for solo piano. I later attended the Perpich Center for Arts Education where I really started to write. I dropped out of college at age 20 to be a folk singer and travel the country and the world-- which I did--surviving as a street musician. In the late 1990's I fell in with a group of radical artists, musicians and activists. We created a queer folk/punk music scene in the Twin Cities, and I got to play clubs like the Fine Line, First Avenue and 7th Street Entry and The Cedar Cultural Center-- both solo and with my band Winter Machine. Over the last 10 years I've performed on and off, releasing a couple of recordings but mostly spending a ton of time writing and trying to improve my skills. I made the decision to re-join the industry last year and am currently enrolled at McNally Smith College of Music for business as well as songwriting. I have a new record tracked, mixed and mastered. With the help of a successful crowdfunding campaign through RocketHub, I have secured funding for CD reproduction and will be releasing the new album on October 6, 2013.

The purpose of San Francisco Zen Center is to make accessible and embody the wisdom and compassion of the Buddha as expressed in the Soto Zen tradition established by Dogen Zenji in 13th-century Japan and conveyed to us by Suzuki Roshi and other Buddhist teachers. Our practice flows from the insight that all beings are Buddha, and that sitting in meditation is itself the realization of Buddha nature, or enlightenment.
