As we needed electrified mixes of the dance track „Geraldines Routine from the recent album SWING PATROL, we also engaged the French “Grand Monsieur’s of Electro swing Bart & Baker” to do a version. Staying in the morphogenetic vibe Fab Samperi and Pep Allegria offered remixes and it was an easy choice to put them all together in this fabulous collection.

TAPE FIVE blew the dust from those old Synthesizers and plugged them in: What surprising sounds we found! Beats not just for the electron enhanced ballroom – but even mainstream clubbing!

Geraldines Routine, one of the dance tracks from the album „Swing Patrol“, already in the radio playlists, got brand new revamp. See if you prefer the „Spin Around Radio Mix“ which recreates the passion and elegance of a Balkan wedding, the stomping one with some Dub step elements – or the Bart & Baker version which went deep into House.
Bad Boy Goodman, TAPE FIVE´s successful track which became a standard in the sophisticated Electro Swing scene, now in a Barcelona Club style done by Pep´s Show Boys & Martin Dee from Spain.
Madame Coquette, the song from the successful „Tonight Josephine“ album got dressed down in Italy by Fab Samperi, ready to stick her powdered nose through the club doors.

SONG BACKGROUND

Cette chanson est née d’une session avec les Swing Ninjas pendant laquelle nous avons créé la base de “Stop Googling Me” qui sera par la suite magnifiquement interprété par Marcella Puppini. Nous faisions un peu du surplace avec ce titre quand, à l’occasion d’une demande de remixe par Tape Five pour leur titre “Geraldine’s Routine” nous avons eu l’idée de proposer au groupe d’y apporter une touche finale…la voix fantastique de Henrik Wagner et les arrangements amusants de Martin Strathausen ont permis au titre de devenir une de nos plus belles réussites. 
Le titre respecte la trame des chansons des années 30 avec une histoire en toile de fond qui a été transposée à notre époque. Deux danseurs de swing s’aimaient d’amour tender mais la belle fut tentée par les mirages de l’argent facile et choisit le riche play boy…mais sans la danse pas de Bonheur, donc au final elle préfère rejoindre son danseur de lindy hop, ils vécurent heureux et eurent beaucoup de petits danseurs.
This song is born from a session we did back in 2012 with the Swing Ninjas, a neo-swing combo from England. Originally the session was designed to record what became the basis of "Stop Googling Me", and two other songs "Just Click" and "Tap Dance", not yet released. Martin from Tape Five contacted us for a remix project around his "Geraldine’s routine" track.  We took this opportunity to ask him to put the final touch on the track - and what a final touch it is. Henrik Wagner brings his magic vocals to the track, and the final result is true to our interpretation of the challenging and tumultuous Thirties." 

The song itself is a tribute to the love songs of that period, which usually describe stories of love and despair (well, some…). So, here we have a love story between two Lindy Hop dancers. The man is passionate but not wealthy, and the girl is torn between her need for a comfortable life and her love of dancing. She falls for a rich playboy, but when she is caught in an ephemeral life of wealth and pretense, she finally returns to her dancer lover - to the hypnotic beat of dance rhythms.

USbased Leon The Pro, slams some b-boy rapping on soul cut In A Hurry, Italian MC Rayna gets her swing on in the Hit It Maestro jam and Claire G Phunk from Australia, delivers soulful vocals on Ghetto Funk Joint Whatcha Gonna Do For Me. Finally Michael DeVellis and vocalist Nina Zeitlin from New York get
busy on the groovy What's It Gonna Be.

Throughout the album, multi-talented Michael DeVellis, lays down live-recorded horns, strings, keys and flutes to create original soul and funk on the tracks. Furthermore, BadboE has gone back to sample some diamonds from rare old funk and soul 45’s to ensure the presence of those authentic magical vibes from
back in the day. As if that wasn’t enough, BadboE even takes on the challenge of recreating the Hunk Fop tune by German funk group Grand Slam from the original master tapes.

The result is cast iron proof that the funk is still very much alive in 2012 in a vital contemporary form. The ghetto funk genre is now a worldwide phenomenon with active scenes in Europe, Canada and Australia and word spreads further by the day. As long as BadboE is around, it's a certified fact that there will be enough funky street jams around to get the whole world on board to celebrate the funk!
