ਹੇ ਮਾਧੋ! ਤੂੰ ਚੰਦਨ ਦਾ ਬੂਟਾ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਂ ਨਿਮਾਣਾ ਹਰਿੰਡ ਹਾਂ (ਪਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ (ਚਰਨਾਂ) ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਥਾਂ ਮਿਲ ਗਈ ਹੈ, 
You are sandalwood, and I am the poor castor oil plant, dwelling close to you.

ਤੇਰੀ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਵਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸ ਪਈ ਹੈ, ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਨੀਵੇਂ ਰੁੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ ।੧।
From a lowly tree, I have become exalted; Your fragrance, Your exquisite fragrance now permeates me. ||1||

ਮਾਧਉ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਰਨਿ ਤੁਮ੍ਹਾਰੀ ॥
ਹੇ ਮਾਧੋ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਫੜੀ ਹੈ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਥੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜਨ ਨਾਹ ਦੇਈਂ),
O Lord, I seek the Sanctuary of the company of Your Saints;

ਹਮ ਅਉਗਨ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ ਉਪਕਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਮੈਂ ਮੰਦ-ਕਰਮੀ ਹਾਂ (ਤੇਰਾ ਸਤ-ਸੰਗ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਮੁੜ ਮੰਦੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਤੁਰ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ) ਤੂੰ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ (ਤੂੰ ਫਿਰ ਜੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ) ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
I am worthless, and You are so benevolent. ||1||Pause||

ਤੁਮ ਮਖਤੂਲ ਸੁਪੇਦ ਸਪੀਅਲ ਹਮ ਬਪੁਰੇ ਜਸ ਕੀਰਾ ॥
ਹੇ ਮਾਧੋ! ਤੂੰ ਚਿੱਟਾ ਪੀਲਾ (ਸੋਹਣਾ) ਰੇਸ਼ਮ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਂ ਨਿਮਾਣਾ (ਉਸ) ਕੀੜੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਹਾਂ (ਜੋ ਰੇਸ਼ਮ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ), 
You are the white and yellow threads of silk, and I am like a poor worm.

ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੀਐ ਮਾਧਉ ਜੈਸੇ ਮਧੁਪ ਮਖੀਰਾ ॥੨॥
ਮਾਧੋ! (ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ) ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਾਂ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਦ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੱਖੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਦ ਦੇ ਛੱਤੇ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕੀਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ) ।੨।
O Lord, I seek to live in the Company of the Saints, like the bee with its honey. ||2||

ਜਾਤੀ ਓਛਾ ਪਾਤੀ ਓਛਾ ਓਛਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥
ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਚਮਿਆਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ—(ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਨੀਵੀਂ, ਮੇਰੀ ਕੁਲ ਨੀਵੀਂ, ਮੇਰਾ ਜਨਮ ਨੀਵਾਂ 
My social status is low, my ancestry is low, and my birth is low as well.

ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਮ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ ਨ ਕੀਨੀ ਕਹਿ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਚਮਾਰਾ ॥੩॥੩॥
(ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਮਾਧੋ! ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਤਿ, ਕੁਲ ਤੇ ਜਨਮ ਸੱਚ-ਮੁਚ ਨੀਵੇਂ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਣਗੇ) ਜੇ ਮੈਂ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ ।੩।੩।

ਪੱਛ ਪਸੂ ਨਗ ਨਾਗ ਨਰਾਧਪ ਸਰਬ ਸਮੈ ਸਭ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰੈ ॥
pachh pasoo nag naag naraadhip sarab samai sabh ko pratipaarai ||
ਪੰਛੀਆਂ, ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ, ਪਹਾੜਾ, ਸੱਪਾ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਭ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
At all times he Sustains all, animals, birds, mountains (or trees), serpents and men (kings of men).

ਪੋਖਤ ਹੈ ਜਲ ਮੈ ਥਲ ਮੈ ਪਲ ਮੈ ਕਲਿ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਮ ਬਿਚਾਰੈ ॥
pokhat hai jal mai thal mai pal mai kal ke nahee karam bichaarai ||
(ਜੋ) ਜਲ-ਥਲ (ਵਿਚਲੇ ਜੀਵਾ) ਦਾ ਪਲ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਪਾਲਣ ਪੋਸ਼ਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਲਿ-ਕਾਲ (ਵਿਚ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ) ਕਰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਚਾਰਦਾ।
He Sustains in an instant all the beings living in water and on land and doth not ponder over their actions.

ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਦਇਆ ਨਿਧਿ ਦੋਖਨ ਦੇਖਤ ਹੈ ਪਰੁ ਦੇਤ ਨ ਹਾਰੈ ॥੧॥੨੪੩॥
dheen dhiaal dhiaanidh dhokhan dhekhat hai par dhet na haarai ||1||243||
ਉਹ ਦੀਨ-ਦਿਆਲ, ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ, ਦੋਖਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖ ਕੀ ਵੀ ਦੇਣੋ ਸੰਕੋਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ॥੧॥੨੪੩॥
The Merciful Lord of the Lowly and the treasure of Mercy sees their blemishes, but doth not fail in His Bounty. 1.243.

ਦਾਹਤ ਹੈ ਦੁਖ ਦੋਖਨ ਕੌ ਦਲ ਦੁੱਜਨ ਕੇ ਪਲ ਮੈ ਦਲ ਡਾਰੈ ॥
dhaahat hai dhukh dhokhan kau dhal dhujan ke pal mai dhal ddaarai ||
ਦੁਖਾ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਖਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਰਜਨਾ ਦੇ ਦਲਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਲ ਭਰ ਵਿਚ ਦਲਮਲ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
He burns the sufferings and blemishes and in an instant mashes the forces of the vicious people.

ਖੰਡ ਅਖੰਡ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਪਹਾਰਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸੰਭਾਰੈ ॥
kha(n)dd akha(n)dd pracha(n)dd prahaaran pooran prem kee preet sa(n)bhaarai ||
ਜੋ ਨਾ ਖੰਡੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ, ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਤੇਜ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਕਾਮ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
He even destroys them who are mighty and Glorious and assail the unassailable and responds the devotion of perfect love.

ਪਾਰ ਨ ਪਾਇ ਸਕੈ ਪਦਮਾ ਪਤਿ ਬੇਦ ਕਤੇਬ ਅਭੇਦ ਉਚਾਰੈ ॥
paar na pai sakai padhamaapat bedh kateb abhedh auchaarai ||
(ਜਿਸ ਦਾ) ਪਾਰ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਦ-ਕਤੇਬ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਅਭੇਦ (ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਰਹੱਸ ਨਾ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ) ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Even Vishnu cannot know His end and the Vedas and Katebs (Semitic Scriptures) call Him Indiscriminate.

ਰੋਜੀ ਹੀ ਰਾਜ ਬਿਲੋਕਤ ਰਾਜਕ ਰੋਖ ਰੂਹਾਨ ਕੀ ਰੋਜੀ ਨ ਟਾਰੈ ॥੨॥੨੪੪॥
roj hee raaj bilokat raajik rokh roohaan kee rojee na Taarai ||2||244||
ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਗੁਪਤ ਭੇਦਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਜੀਵਾ ਦੀ ਰੋਜ਼ੀ ਬੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ॥੨॥੨੪੪॥
The Provider-Lord always sees our secrets, even then in anger He doth not stop His munificence.2.244.
