In this video, Bibi Gurprit Kaur guides us through the Bani of Barah Maha, introducing the month of Vaisakh. This is the second month in the Sikh Calendar!

In this part of Barah Maha, Guru Ji speaks about the reality of life and how we often have attachments to people and worldly objects. Guru Ji explains how none of these people or things will go with us when we leave this world.

So the question is, what will go with us?

As the Khalsa Sajna Divas (the day the Khalsa was created) also falls in the month of Vaisakh, Guru Sahib tells us about the virtues of those beings who are "without any impurities".

Barah Maha is a Bani composed by the fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Arjan Dev Ji. This Bani is commonly recited at the beginning of each month of the Sikh calendar, also known as Sangrand. Each month has a specific message relevant to that particular time of year. Join us as we learn about 'Barah Maha' - the Twelve Months.

Bhai Harman Singh (CGY) - Kirtan Sohila

In this first part, Harman Singh goes through the Birth and Life of Bhai Gaura Ji. A Gursikh of Guru Har Rai Sahib, who controlled an army under Guru Sahib. One day Bhai Gaura Ji was insulted by one of his fellow Gursikhs and so Guru Har Rai Sahib calls for peace between the two Sikhs. But Bhai Gaura Ji refuses and lets Anger get the better of him...
