ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla:

ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਧਿਆਏ ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, 
Within my heart, I meditate on the Lotus Feet of God.

ਰੋਗ ਗਏ ਸਗਲੇ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਏ ॥੧॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੋਗ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਏ ।੧।
Disease is gone, and I have found total peace. ||1||

ਗੁਰਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਾਟਿਆ ਦੀਨੋ ਦਾਨੁ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੱੁਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ) ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ । 
The Guru relieved my sufferings, and blessed me with the gift.

ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਜੀਵਨ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਗਈ, (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਬੂਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
My birth has been rendered fruitful, and my life is approved. ||1||Pause||

ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਨੀ ॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ—ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ । 
The Ambrosial Bani of God's Word is the Unspoken Speech.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵੇ ਗਿਆਨੀ ॥੨॥੨॥੨੦॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨।੨।੨੦।
Says Nanak, the spiritually wise live by meditating on God. ||2||2||20||

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ । 
Now I have obtained the wealth of the Lord's Name.

ਭਏ ਅਚਿੰਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਸਭ ਬੁਝੀ ਹੈ ਇਹੁ ਲਿਖਿਓ ਲੇਖੁ ਮਥਾਮਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
(ਇਸ ਧਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ ਬੇ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ, (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਸਾਰੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮਿਟ ਗਈ ਹੈ (ਧੁਰ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ) ਇਹ (ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਦਾ) ਲੇਖ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
I have become carefree, and all my thirsty desires are satisfied. Such is the destiny written on my forehead. ||1||Pause||

ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਭਇਓ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਇਓ ਦੇਹ ਗਿਰਾਮਾ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਵੈਰਾਗੀ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸਾਂ, ਆਖ਼ਿਰ ਭਟਕ ਭਟਕ ਕੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ ਸਰੀਰ-ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ 
Searching and searching, I became depressed; I wandered all around, and finally came back to my body-village.

ਗੁਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਿ ਸਉਦਾ ਇਹੁ ਜੋਰਿਓ ਹਥਿ ਚਰਿਓ ਲਾਲੁ ਅਗਾਮਾ ॥੧॥
ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵਣਜ ਕਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ (ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹੀ) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਲਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ ।੧।
The Merciful Guru made this deal, and I have obtained the priceless jewel. ||1||

ਆਨ ਬਾਪਾਰ ਬਨਜ ਜੋ ਕਰੀਅਹਿ ਤੇਤੇ ਦੂਖ ਸਹਾਮਾ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਹੋਰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਭੀ ਵਣਜ ਵਪਾਰ ਕਰੀਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਹਾਰਨ (ਦਾ ਸਬਬ ਬਣਦੇ ਹਨ) । 
The other deals and trades which I did, brought only sorrow and suffering.

ਗੋਬਿਦ ਭਜਨ ਕੇ ਨਿਰਭੈ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਸਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਾ ॥੨॥੧੨॥੩੫॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਦੇ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਬੰਦੇ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਡਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨।੧੨।੩੫।
Fearless are those traders who deal in meditation on the Lord of the Universe. O Nanak, the Lord's Name is their capital. ||2||12||35||
