Guru Ji teaches us about the experiences of Draupadi, for us to learn from and use to reflect on our lives. Draupadi is being publicly humiliated, but nobody from her worldly relations that she thought would save her stepped up. So she prayed to the Creator when she lost hope in others.

It is said that if one listen to the history of the lives of all 10 Gurus through these texts with complete devotion and faith, they can reach enlightenment.
