Guru Amar Das Ji tells us that if our mind is soiled then everything is soiled. 

Bhai Baljit Singh explains how everything is effected if the mind is dirty. The dirt that is within the mind will spill over into the senses. For example, if the mind is filled with lustful thoughts it will desire to see the beauty of another through the eyes. 

Often we try to wash the sins that are committed stemming from the soiled mind through good deeds but Guru Amar Das Ji explains that the only we can cleanse the mind is to go into the sanctuary of The True Guru. 

Bhai Baljit Singh goes through how a thief called Bhoomia tried to wash away the sin of robbing people through feeding and giving shelter to Saints but Guru Nanak Dev Ji told him that this is of no avail until you walk the path of Truth.

Bhai Baljit Singh explains through the Sakhi (true story) of Ganika (a prostitute) how important it is not to judge or look down at anyone but at the same time realise how deep the effects can be from the company we keep, be it good or bad. 

Taking it upon themselves, Guru Arjun Dev Ji teaches us how to beg before our Guru that we become the slave of His slaves and to keep us away from the faithless that break our faith.

Guru Amar Das Ji tells us that that Sikh who walks in the Will of The Guru is my friend, relative & sibling. Let’s take inspiration from the beautiful Sakhi of Baba Amar Das Ji’s meeting with Angad Dev ji for the first time as a Sikh & Bhai Lehna Ji meeting Guru Nanak Dev Ji for the first time. 

Bhai Baljit Singh goes through how Baba Amar Das Ji’s humility was beyond words. Even though Baba Amar Das Ji was 25 years older then Guru Angad Dev Ji they gave them so much respect that one time when they were walking together Baba Amar Das Ji’s arm passed Guru Angad Dev Ji’s body. Baba Ji felt that they had disrespected their Guru, and to punish themselves they stopped using that arm. When Guru Angad Dev Ji found out that Baba ji hasn’t used their arm, they called for them and said, “I honour your love and devotion but you don’t need to be so hard on yourself and must start using your arm again”.

Guru Arjun Dev ji brings to our awareness that we can never escape from the inner-knower (God).  
Someone that gets stuck in a cycle of greed makes various efforts to deceive others but then makes an attempt to deny their actions, not realising Vaheguru (God) in the form of The Righteous Judge is listening and watching everything. 

Bhai Baljit Singh gives an example of a murderer in the guise of a holy man who called himself Sajjan (friend) of how he made various efforts to deceive Guru Nanak Dev Ji not realising Guru Nanak is the inner-knower of all and nothing can be hidden from them.

Making it relatable to modern day situations, Bhai Baljit Singh gives examples of how greed can even spill into desiring relationships outside of the marriage leading to adultery. Lacking contentment can lead us into all sorts of situations we never had imagined even whilst wearing religious robes.

Bhai Baljit Singh explains through Guru Arjun Dev ji what it means to forget Vaheguru (God). It is not enough to say Vaheguru Ji’s name but we need to bring Vaheguru ji’s name into our actions. Breaking someone’s heart with spiteful words is forgetting Vaheguru (God). Bringing the name of sweet speech upon our tongue is remembering Vaheguru Ji. 

Unconsciously we might start looking down at others and get caught up in a web of pride not realising that we can end up falling tomorrow. Guru ji tells us those that are lowly today Vaheguru Ji has the power to make them the highest.
