Dutch producer Roland van Oorschot’s BS-1 project is the audio manifestation of the phrase ‘show no mercy’. The very same phrase used as the title of the legendary band Slayer’s debut album; a band that greatly influenced and inspired BS-1’s musical journey. If you can imagine the ferocity of that band and picture the guitars being replaced with machines you’ll be on the right track…

This EP is the first of two appearances planned for BS-1 on Bass Agenda Recordings in 2025 and brings four new tracks that blend dark atmospherics, high energy basslines, acid and relentless beats with jagged industrial edges. 

All tracks start simmering from the get go and come to boil in the ear with an intense maelstrom of sound engulfing the listener. BS-1 further shows his flair for atmosphere and power in the slower track Pain Stimulus that somehow drops the BPM and dials up the intensity of the experience.

Not one for the fain of heart but highly rewarding for those brave enough.

Modulations is back — with a new musical direction.

In this next chapter, the podcast will focus mainly on live performances from electronic music artists who embrace a DIY approach to creativity — many of whom perform at EMOM and similar grassroots events.

Over the past few years, I’ve been attending various EMOM (Electronic Music Open Mic) events across the north of England. It’s at these gatherings that I’ve discovered some incredible talent — from both familiar and often unknown artists. This includes close friends, whom I’ve had the pleasure of watching take to the stage and perform for the very first time. The whole experience has been inspiring — and eye (or ear) opening, to say the least.

Andreas, who ventured into DJing back in 1995, started his musical journey crafting mix tapes and spinning drum and bass in Philadelphia's underground rave scene. Currently based in San Francisco, Andreas combines his love for music with his studies in computer science. Operating under the alias Tygre, he immersed himself in the darker realms of electro, techno, and drum and bass from 1997 to 2000. After a prolonged hiatus, Tygre, inspired by the hypnotic sounds of electro, techno, and drum and bass, is back to spread his passion for music, the art of mixing, and the creation of mesmerizing sonic journeys.
