Open Unity is the debut EP release on Mesh from Leeds based artist Jinjé which is set to be released June 3rd 2021.

Jinjé, known as Lee Malcolm, heralds from Leeds in Yorkshire. That's where he spent his formative years helping sculpt the scene as a member of post-rock band turned live techno outfit, Vessels. With over a decade of experience under his belt this new project is a re-envisioned solo endeavour, one that clearly demonstrates a pedigree of experience on the touring circuit as well as love for club anchored experimentation.

The EP features a mixture of vibrant and inviting influences from across his wide musical tastes, it's Jinjé meets Mesh. This can be heard in the mystic choir like sounding vocal chops and techno stew of "Release in this Instance", and within the warping electro ballad 'Cinétique'. The release is further complemented by an energetic left-field pad and percs extravaganza "Too Young For Zorb". The final track covers ambient grounds with "Drone Alone". It's a befitting name which imbues a sense of calm into a transcendent landscape accompanied by faint chirping crickets and soft liturgical vocal chants.

The artwork for the EP has been made by James Lacy (Pointless Illustration James) and features a fitting aesthetic to the inner workings of Jinjés' mind.

After dropping no less than three compilations over the Summer months, 3024 shifts its focus back to releasing genre-defying EP's, this time by one of the brightest talents on the bass spectrum: Otik. 

The prolific Londoner brings us four excellent mood excursions ranging from the euphoric to the straight up nasty. Title track "Soulo" is the soundtrack for a post-covid world with its contemporary approach to m25 cornfield rave euphoria, while "Paradise Mode" reinterprets the deeper 90s Headz vibes of luminaries such as Lemon D and J Majik. "Lightyear Dub" is the penultimate 3024 track, with its sci-fi atmospheres and propelling beats and basslines, and will surely be a staple in many DJ sets. As the closer to this EP, "Garuna" is a rough, moody beast of a tune inhabiting that exciting 100-110 territory.

2013 has been a pretty special year for Houndstooth. In December 2012 we were staring down the barrel of a daunting release schedule all giddy from the excitement of it but understandably nervous at the same time. It’s all the same energy though, nerves and excitement and the artists we’ve worked with and released have done more to inspire us and stoke our sense of pride over the past 12 months than anyone or anything else. So as a bit of a thank you to them and as a means of underlining our first year in existence, we asked our roster to remix each other’s music and create something uniquely Houndstooth for the year’s end. 

HTH vs HTH is a 7-track EP that pits the production processes of our artists against one another with Special Request and Akkord tackling each other’s stems whilst Call Super and Second Storey trade tracks alongside interwoven interpretations of House of Black Lanterns and _Unsubscribe_ and a chilling Snow Ghosts cover version.

We're pleased to introduce you to London-based producer On Man, a musician whose previous collaborations include Giggs, Darq E Freaker, Zebra Katz and Mr Hudson amongst others.

The original 'Squares and Triangles features fellow London-based rapper F-M-M-F' and now we have Ninja Tune's insanely good producer 'The Bug' on remix duties.


"Pure, physical heaviness - that’s what I wanted with the Squares and Triangles remix, and that’s why I was so excited that The Bug agreed to take on the track. It was a deep, dark track already but he's grabbed it and submerged it down into the abyss in a way that only he can. "What attracted me to remixing 'Squares & Triangles' was the sense of mystery. I had never heard of the artist On Man, nor the MC F-M-M-F, and so i had no preconceptions nor obstacles. I loved the fact the vocals provided more questions than answers. And as a fellow freak, in a time where so much music is made to fit blandly into a conformist box, I totally admired the fact this song existed in its own, uncommercial, non-aligned zone.
I just knew as soon as i heard the original, i instantly dug the ice-cold mood and felt I wanted to make it both heavier and deeper simultaneously." ~ The Bug


"F-M-M-F's twisted verbals were hyper-tense and psychotic, so the challenge was to try and intensify the deadly narrative of the lyrics still further... So i opted for max brutality, absolute minimalism, and a relentless groove to carry the crushing weight and add to the sense of danger and drama." ~ The Bug

Mani Festo steps up for the first vinyl release on the Club Glow imprint following a series of cassette tapes exploring all corners of rave music. ‘All Night’ is filled with Mani Festo’s dynamic influences from trip-hop, dubstep, and garage with ‘Trackside’ a moody FWD style roller and a subtle nod to a miss-spent youth sneaking out and painting graffiti. 

Also on the EP are a couple of tracks which were elusive dubplates until now including ‘All Night’ and ‘Cheatin’. These records were staples in sets from the likes of Loefah, Orson, Youngsta, and Chunky. 

Club Glow is a collective of Borai, Denham Audio, Major and Mani Festo which launched in 2018 with a collaborative release from Denham Audio and Borai - ‘Club Glow Vol. 1’ and featured hits such as 'Make Me' and '6AM (How Do U Feel)'.
