Techno is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of Sept. He has always been far away from the mainstream beats. His DJ Sets are a musical trip and his sound has continuously evolved, always staying true to his Techno roots. In addition, Sept is showing a wide delicate mixture of darkness and light, creating a sonic musical journey that took him to play regularly in the most respected clubs around Asia, Europe, North and South America.

Beyond his artistic activity, Sept is a driving force in shaping the Polish electronic music landscape. From his earliest days, he has been deeply involved in event organisation and artistic direction, leaving a lasting imprint on the scene. In 2024, he took his vision a step further with the launch of OPUS, a multidisciplinary project uniting music and visual arts through a record label and event series.

Sept’s music has found homes on esteemed labels such as CLERGY, Bpitch, Flash Recordings, KYSH, and his own OPUS. His mixes have been featured in some of the world’s most renowned podcast series, including Boiler Room, Mixmag, HÖR, Vault Sessions, Slam Radio, and HATE.

With a sound that continues to challenge and inspire, Sept remains an enigmatic force, inviting audiences into a world where every sound tells a story.

Monocerotis est un agrégat céleste à grande variabilité lumineuse, situé à 20 000 années lumière de notre Terre, quelque part dans la constellation de la Licorne. Depuis 2020, le quintet Monocerotis puise sa source dans le Jazz, la Pop et l’Électro pour proposer un univers sonore tout aussi louvoyant et imprévisible. De cette fusion, des compositions originales et quelques pépites revisitées jaillissent.

Une batterie millimétrée, une basse entêtée, un clavier ciselé, une trompette inspirée et une voix chaleureuse : voilà de quoi est faite la musique de Monocerotis. Bon voyage, de l'ambiance des 70's à nos jours ...

	Every artist has a signature. Mihai Popoviciu is no exception. For over a decade the amiable Romanian producer and DJ has built a body of work characterised by deep grooves, crisp precision, and irresistible energy.
	Mihai's singular vision was born in his home town Sibiu (still his home base) which, at the time, lay on the fringes of Europe's thriving dance scene. It was the early '90s. Electronic music was flooding London, Ibiza, Berlin but only a trickle reached his ears. "We would tape German TV shows onto cassette and listen over and over," he recalls.
	With no clubs, record shops or dance culture to speak of Mihai's dream of being an electronic artist seemed remote. He studied architecture and briefly worked in the field, but it was house and techno, not house-building, that was his true calling . "I couldn't DJ, because there were no clubs," he says with a chuckle. But he could buy software, so he started making records. Lots of records. Sometimes one per day, for months on end. The work of the determined young artist began to catch people's ears. His first track was signed to International Deejay Gigolo in 2005, and dozens of releases followed on imprints including Bondage, Highgrade, Poker Flat, Bedrock, Dessous and also his own label Cyclic, established in 2012.
	This calm determination became Mihai's trademark as his career blossomed from production to DJing. After honing is skills in the studio he learned to DJ (on borrowed decks) and began drawing attention in Romania and across Europe. Playing international gigs was a big move for someone who grew up only seeing clubs on TV but Mihai stepped up with professional aplomb. His CV now includes the best clubs in Europe and around the world, from Berghain and Watergate in Berlin; to London's Fabric and The Egg; to D-Edge, São Paulo; DC-10, Ibiza; and more.
	Mihai's ambition with every track and every DJ set, is to transmit the joy and energy that fuels his dream. "It feels great to see people dancing, smiling, having a good time. No matter what I do, that's the main thing." 
	He is equally at home in underground clubs or on festival stages. The one thing that stays the same is his artistry and irresistible delight in music. "Mihai was on his sound from the beginning," says friend and booking agent Benny Grauer. "It has a unique quality. Any time you hear it you know, "That's Mihai". He's done it for years, and it is perfect."

San Diego born, the community of the dance floor surrounded me at a younger age.
It was normal for house parties to have decks at the command of the music selection. It took me a year or two of observing  the rekordbox patterns until finally I purchased my own controller in the Spring of 2017. 

From here, I was hooked. To be a good DJ you of course need skills, but what I have learned over the last 8 years is that if you want to be a respected DJ, you need tracks. My knowledge of artists stemmed from attending festivals and shows to expand my horizons in the various sub genres of dance music. I enjoy them all and keep an open mind! However, I realized there were simply too many DJs and labels to keep track of new music. I hated the feeling of coming across a banger track and realizing it was released months ago. I wished there was a page that I could follow to give me release updates. In the Summer of 2020, H&TR was born. 

I am now addicted to digging deeper and deeper into the underground to discover every new release across house and techno, and have been doing it for over 150 weeks straight now. I am committed to this mission not only for myself and DJ ability, but I have a passion for sharing good music with others. I love introducing a new artist to a friend that I think they would enjoy. Not just this, but what an incredible feeling it is to “ID” a track when others send me a video. Hence a friend coining me the name “DavID”
