“It’s on like that!” Projected from Mark Curry’s vocal cords during 2001’s rap hit “Bad Boys for Life.” Well…. Scoot along Sean Combs. @crashparty are wielding their sampling sticks, have borrowed Mark’s one liner under a new guise “Paul Spicy” (for copyright reasons obviously) and are moving into the neighbourhood to throw their own barn dance! Find them in Grandpas wheelchair at the deep end of the swimming pool, high on Aloe Vera cooking up synthesiser sounds that’ll make Black Rob shriek Whoa indeed!

Kicking off the Shindig is the title track “It’s on Like That.” You can expect the standard shenanigans from the boys as they bring rumblings and growls from Ableton perfectly alongside guitar licks, drum fills, heavy kicks, snares and bass. This track is an absolute belter.

Keeping to their signature sound, they bring Natty Speaks along for the ride on “What You Come to Do?” Well, it looks that they came to Bruck up the party! CP & @nattydefcon tempt you in with a more relaxed vibe, but once they have you in their clutches, they crank it to 200 guaranteeing a mosh pit wherever this is played. This is a solid Collab with the perfect vocal content from Natty.

Up next… “Funk It Up” Doing what’s scribbled on the can! This 120-bpm gem is brimming over with funky guitar’s, fresh horns and a delicious bass line that transforms into some tasty growls while remaining an accessible party joint to all listeners.  

Slamming hard on the tail of this EP is the remix competition winner @swiminc This gentleman stepped up to the challenge of remixing “Funk It Up” and surfaced from his den victorious with this Fresh to Def take on CP’s original. Darkening it up a bit with some serious Synth action while paying homage to the OG, this is how a remix should be handled.

As Breakbeat Paradise Recordings continue on the endless journey of discoveries within the funky sounds of the breaks we came across a special style of bassy glitch funk from Canadian producer FunkinRight. On this debut 4-track EP called Bring The Funk we are seeing FunkinRight doing just that with a sweet organic electronic funk with bold heavy basslines and steady rocking beats alone with some clever sampling into the classic breaks goldmine &ndash; twisted in brand new way.

FunkinRight is no stranger to the funky breaks DJ scene of the western Canadian circuit where he&rsquo;s brought his funky styles to festivals like Curiosity, FozzyFest, Freezerburn, Vibrant and shared stages with funky DJs/Producer like: Askillz, Featurecast, Father Funk, JFB, Megan Hamilton, Phibes, WBBL, Woofax and more.

The EP is featuring 3 originals joints from FunkinRight that fully showcases his unique type of funy bass music. In addition to this another fellow Calgary-based producer Sonek who is known for his releases on V.I.M.Breaks &amp; Diesel Recordings is featuring on the Work track that finished up this EP. Mined & Forrest is back with the 2nd EP drop this year and the 4th EP on BBP called Cool Operator. The funky production duo has been keeping busy through the pandemic and really perfected the sounds and grooves on these 4 epic new glitchy funk bangers.

As you hear the very first groove of the Cool Operator title track you know that this EP is gonna be funky. Smooth electric glitchy funk with all the little chopped up vocals that we have come to love Mined & Forrest for. Some live sax and guitar solos have been added to bring the vibes to the maximum on this catchy tune.

The boys kick it up a notch on the Rock It tune that features some catching rock n roll guitar hooks and some steady rolling ghetto funk beats. The vocal hooks and sample mixing keep it ultra-funky as this progressive tune rolls it way through the airwaves. 

Mined & Forrest returns to the more soulful vibes on the third cut of the EP called NY Diesel, which features some smooth beats and big grooves.

Last but certainly not least they team up with vocalist Amanda Power who brings some mystique to the tunes and Mined & Forrest has just the trippy vibes to go with it. On the My Siren Song we hear two opera singers which fit perfectly with the trippy dub grooves on this track.

Founded by Boe Pedersen (Dj BadboE) in Denmark, and now based in Florida. The label originates from the music website Breakbeat Paradise that has been running since 1996. Breakbeat Paradise is dedicated to breakers and electronic musicians within the style of music that we can loosely term as breakbeat. Developing and improving this website over the last 10 years to include everything from visitor music sharing, annual breakbeat contests, samplekits and discussion forum. We felt that going into digital music distribution would be a natural next step.

The music material on the Breakbeat Paradise website has over 1000 pieces of music. Breakbeat Paradise Recordings will  pick up the very best  “cream of the crop”, artists  and tunes and release them as digital downloads through Breakbeat Paradise Recordings  collaborative partners . We found digital distribution would match perfect with our cutting-edge funky breakbeat music and the fastest way from  the streets – to the listener and dancefloor!

With only exclusive vinyl and digital releases , we are always focused on the most important thing for us – the music! 

The music will span from traditional nu funk and funky breaks to more dancefloor oriented ghetto funk,  future funk and big beat as well as hip hop with a glitch and the more mellow side of the drum ‘n’ bass and nu breaks. The sound of Breakbeat Paradise is driven by an emphatic beat that is intended to form a leitmotif between the releases.

Even though releases from Breakbeat Paradise will be coming from different artists, we always uniform a sound by focusing within the genres of breakbeat.  Collaborators and musicians work close together on our label and we are always ensuring a brand of selective “state of the art“, quality and sound .

We will devote ourselves to deliver the phattest, funkiest and the biggest grooves to be found out there...
