'Volvox is a powerful force in the musical underground, not just as a DJ who can tellstories with her visceral techno selections, but as an advocate fighting for equal opportunities for marginalised communities. The Brazil-born artist has played around the world but has always retained a key focus on helping to shape the techno underground in and around New York. 

As well as being part of all-female DJ crew Discwoman, Volvox is riding high after a successful second party in her newly launched FLINTA NYC series which is all about providing a unique safe space in the city and helping to foster community at a grassroots level. Gloria Rose. A name as unassuming as the humble stature that makes up the person. But take care - a leopard’s prey rarely knows it’s the target before it’s being stripped apart. 

For the artist has been steadily turning into a tour-de-force both here in London and increasingly on the continent too. Sultry techno & alluring grooves lure those in their midst into a false sense of security, before she pounces, snaring her target with a level of drive & prowess that instantly commands the dance floor. At that point all you can do is enjoy the ride, powerless, at her mercy, the only destination is her own.

For Week 3 of our 5 weeks of Pride colabs, we are in Chile with Fiesta Dame. 

Camilo, aka Nsperger, is a DJ based in Santiago de Chile and a resident at DAME. Soon to release his debut EP, he’s played across Latin America and abroad, with appearances at Basement NY, Brutal México, Baum in Colombia, Fagot in Argentina, Boiler Room, DGTL, Creamfields and more. His sets move like films—dark and heavy in parts, with moments of atmosphere and a slow build toward queer, euphoric chaos. 

Rooted in punk, acid and 90s-flavoured analogue sounds, he’s shared line-ups with Kittin, Ellen Allien, Freddy K, Bashkka, Kancheli, Ndrx, u.r.trax, Boris and others he looks up to. He’s currently preparing for his first European tour, with dates at Whole Festival, Gegen/Pornceptual, Bassiani and other spaces focused on queer and dissident visibility.

This set was recorded at home and mastered by Daniela Fuzz. It steps away from peak-time energy to explore something more ambient and introspective, with a nod to the time he first fell in love with techno—anchored by a Norman Nodge remix he couldn’t stop playing back then.

For the 49th episode of the BPitch Podcast, we are excited to welcome Wallis!

Our favorite studio rat handed us a very special DJ set, where she plays exclusively her own music, mainly unreleased tracks she wrote in the last 12 months, showcasing just how wide her production range is. Wallis is one of a kind, and writes techno that speaks to the soul. Her music is for dancefloors but comes straight from the heart. Not many are the techno producers with this kind of catalogue, and even rarer are the die-hard innovators, looking to twist and bend techno into new forms like her. 

Being different and pushing boundaries in our social-media-driven world is sometimes punished by the algorithms, but artists like Wallis remind us that creativity and art is something still worth striving and fighting for.
