Gustavo Bassani is a techno producer, DJ, multi-instrumentalist and sound designer based in Porto Alegre, Brazil. His diverse background in organic instruments and a musical approach to techno is what gravitated us towards his sound. With deep fast productions that are structured around polyrhythms, groovy chords and percussive hypnotic beats, his music has recently been gaining notoriety; featured by many techno DJs around the world, including MARRØN, Ritchie Hawtin, Truncate, Marcal, Dub Fire, Freddy K, Rene Wise, Luke Slater, Kr!z, Yanamaste, Nina Kraviz, Lindsey Herbert, Justine Perry, Future 666, Luigi Madonna, Lea Occhi, Paula Koski, André Salata, Vinicius Honorio, Alex Justino, among others.

"The Feeling That Brought Me Here" is Ackermann's second album. Effortlessly drifting between techno and house, the album eschews his usual EP minimalism in favor of a bold, hookline focused album. Gritty chord stabs, chunky pianos and jacked up grooves dominate the palate, whilst Ackermann's signature sample manipulation fuses deconstructed vocal chops that are used more like instruments or percussion elements instead of being the centrepiece of a song with razor-sharp drum edits and intricate sound design.

While his debut album "Stadium Techno" saw Ackermann's teenage incarnation smugly manning the controls of his 2020s studio (where he is currently known for immaculate mastering and A-List mixdowns) this sophomore collection offers a polished weaponry spanning 3 years of focussed collaboration integrating this adolescent dynamist with the guiding hand of an elder reaching their production zenith.
"The Feeling That Brought Me Here" channels the intrinsic urge of embodied music creation - fiercely somatic, unrestrained, physical, immediate and kinetic. Rogue sketches and intuitive vibe snapshots resist genre constraints to favor a dancefloor defined by polished 'f##k-you' tectonics and sleekly engineered attitude.

From the unapologetic feel-good opener "Good Times" via tougher chord slappers like "Click" or "Alter", a casual techno banger exclusively made with jungle sounds ("Now you know" with Vinicius Honorio), the deep techno bliss of "Noha", the cathartic "Let Go" or the disco infused outro "Gratitude" its all unmistakenly trademark Ackermann productions and all the various styles are firmly held together by his emotion over function approach to music production.
