After experimenting with Dubstep and Drum ’n’ Bass for over 8 years Franz Jäger started in 2016 following a more technoid approach. Based in Stockholm and inspired by the works of Seba, DJ Slip a.k.a. Troy Geary as well as jazz, soul, and the sound of nature he now passionately focusses on his unique interpretation of minimalistic and organic Techno full of momentum and carefully crafted soundscapes.
With early support and mentoring from Cari Lekebusch he first played at one of the infamous „Underground Cult“ parties followed by numerous gigs all over Sweden including Club ‚mmmmm‘ in Stockholm. As a resident of Schimmer Records from Stuttgart and with his release on HAYES Collective in 2020 and his debut album on Diffuse Reality in 2021 he gained massive attention and received heavy support for his outstanding creative output.

Our first premiere of the week comes from German DJ and producer, bw, who is set to drop his hypnotic and rolling techno track 'Sneak Out' on Croatian label, Secession.

For Secession's seventh instalment, the label ran by producer and DJ Volster, they welcome Munich based DJ and producer bw to the imprint. He has developed a consistent sound producing rolling techno tracks that are both intricate and hypnotic, often with just the right amount of industrial elements.

His stripped down grooves and almost tool like tracks in his debut EP 'Gazes' are carving the way for a new generation of emerging techno artists.

He provides us with ‘Revised Config’ a stripped back head nodder, delicate pulsing tones, high end finesse all with a masterful storyline. 5th Dimension, a mere reference to an alternative reality, a constant evolving pulse runs through this one, sharp grounding percussion with a clear everywhere and nowhere feel. Classic Search! 

Arthur Robert, someone who has set the mark over these last years with masterful releases, a true inspiration presenting the very depth of his soul with sonic language. He presents ‘Heartbreak’, A Heads down soul searcher with fine attention, distinctive melody with a clear context, set with  luring mysterious sweeping percussion. ‘Kinship’ is the second, a clear reflector on the dancefloor, High momentum progressions with crystal clear precision and rooting balance all with the sense of a destination in sight.

ANAØH is a label based in México, worked by Fixon and Dig-it, both of who have a long history in the techno scene. The project was born in 2016 in order to expose the music of the highest quality, with conceptual releases and delicate sound designs that showcase the sound of natural landscapes. 

‘ANAØH INVITES’ is the new annual series, in which both Dig-It and Fixon as hosts of the label invite two artists to join them to release four original tracks on a special edition translucent 12' vinyl.

The two joining artists are James Ruskin and Ben Sims, both of who are the fundamental base of the evolution of British Techno sound. For the vinyl, these two have delivered two magnificent tracks “Nurk” and “Punching Up”, which each represent the experienced path that they have carved for more than two decades. 

As James and Ben join alsongside Dig-It and Fixon, the vinyl will no doubt result in powerful sounds - pure TNT techno.

Our premiere pick, ‘Divergence’, is part of the B-side and pulses through your speakers like a compelling invitation to hit the dance floor.

The duo tears open the EP with a clean-cut & high momentum mind-twister, ‘Cynical Moves’, setting the tone for what’s to come. While the pace and energy peak in the second track, the signature tunneling thrive is ever-present. Like a cat carrying her kitten by the neck, it lifts you up, controls you and drops you off elsewhere.

‘Divergence’ is a rambling pulsation, rhythmically building up towards another hypnotic wobbler. While trying to combine aesthetic quality with a high energy and emotional experience Altinbas and Cirkle manage to keep the underground feeling real.
