Continuing our special BCCO x HE.SHE.THEY. takeover for Trans Awareness Week today we are with Berlin based artist Goth Jafar.

This incredible artist blends hardcore techno, trance, pop, and hip hop, performing regularly with the collective Club Carry. Her sets have brought her to key nightlife spots, including Chromatic, LadyLand in Brooklyn, Los Angeles’ Heav3n, PC Music’s Club Quarantine, and Sweden’s Norbergfestival.

She has shared the stage with artists like Memphy, Tama Gucci, A.G. Cook, River Moon, Ashland Mines, Jimmy Edgar, LYDO, SHYGIRL, Namasenda, BABYNYMPH, and Planningtorock. Notably, she opened for Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour in Houston, Texas.

Day 2 of our special BCCO x HE.SHE.THEY. takeover for Trans Awareness Week we stay in London for UK house legend Grace Sands.

Grace is a veteran of the UK’s pioneering deep house scene, having started her DJ journey with the iconic DiY Soundsystem as one half of the duo Digs and Woosh. Together, they shared a love for hip hop, funk, post-punk, disco, and jazz. Over the years, Grace has hosted DiY nights and her own events in London, which led her to a residency with the London Queer night Adonis, where her knack for reading the crowd and blending classic and modern influences shines.

Grace has featured online for Boiler Room, Mixmag Lab LDN, and CRACK Magazine and curated a HOMOBLOC takeover for LockdownFM.live. She runs her own label, Sands of Time, and hosts events under the same name at The Lion & Lamb in London. A regular on radio, she appears on NTS, Rinse FM, Foundation FM, and Netil Radio, and co-hosts the ADONIS show on NTS.

Artist six in our special BCCO x HE.SHE.THEY. takeover to celebrate Trans Awareness Week is the Washington, D.C.-based artist Baby Weight.

For over a decade, Baby Weight has been captivating dancefloors with her genre-bending sound, dynamic DJ sets, and outspoken advocacy. She has earned support from major artists such as Fatboy Slim, Walker & Royce, LP Giobbi, Justin Martin, Chris Lorenzo, Nicole Moudaber, and VNSSA.

Described by Mixmag as “resolutely anti-bullshit and pro-fun,” Baby Weight has performed at top festivals like Coachella, SXSW, and EDC. Her releases span renowned labels including Insomniac Records, He.She.They, Southern Fried, D4D4NCE, Dome of Doom, and Street Tracks.

In 2020, she publicly came out as trans, reflecting her journey in both her personal life and as an artist. That same year, she scored her first #1 on Beatport with ‘Rave Police.’

2022 was a standout year, marked by high-profile releases such as ‘House Princess,’ which featured in Calvin Klein’s Pride campaign. In 2023, DJ Mag and The Blessed Madonna named her an “artist to watch,” leading to a nomination for “Breakthrough DJ of the Year.” Her track ‘Slay 4 Me’ also gained heavy support from BBC Radio 1, Defected, and Ministry of Sound.

In 2024, Baby Weight’s releases ‘Inner Voice’ and ‘For U’ showcased new sonic directions, culminating in a buzzworthy performance at Coachella.

At just 17, Mees Javois is quickly becoming a rising star in the scene, catching the attention of heavyweights like Ben Sims (UK) and Mall Grab (AUS). His sound is defined by hard-hitting kicks, groovy basslines, classic synth stabs, and melodies that evoke a nostalgic vibe. It’s evident from his music and DJ sets that Javois possesses both talent and a deep understanding of his craft, paired with a strong work ethic. His trajectory is unmistakable. This past year has been pivotal for the young artist, with upcoming releases on Mall Grab & Effy’s new label, Fragrance, and DJ appearances at events like Into The Woods festival, Nachbar, and BRET.

BCCO Mix Series 467: Mees Javois

Kicking off our special BCCO x HE.SHE.THEY. takeover for Trans Awareness Week 2024 we have London based superstar Biianco.

London-based and LA-built, they’re a producer, DJ, and engineer whose mastery of sound and circuitry sets them apart. Known for creating high-energy rave music with nostalgic trance and eurodance vibes, BIIANCO’s style is both fierce and deeply emotional.

As a DJ, BIIANCO effortlessly blends melody with hard-hitting, fast beats, drawing on years of music theory and instrumental skill. Their breakout moment came in 2023, when a live performance of Against The Wall (with 1111 on WUGD) went viral, amassing 35 million views and charting in over 20 countries.

In 2024, BIIANCO has continued to build momentum, touring Europe, the US, and Australia, signing a record deal with Ultra, and preparing a major collaboration with Marlon Hoffstadt on Club Heartbroken. This is only the beginning for BIIANCO’s unstoppable rise in dance music.

BCCO Mix Series 471: Vy Tran

Closing out  our special seven day BCCO x HE.SHE.THEY. takeover to celebrate Trans Awareness Week is Mz Worthy from San Francisco, California.

This artist pays homage to classic House while diving into uncharted, bass-driven territories. 

After over two decades in the scene, Mz Worthy often felt disconnected from her world and fans. In 2020, after years of repressing feelings of gender dysphoria, she came out as transgender, describing it as a puzzle coming together. Inviting fans along on her journey, she now finds freedom and deeper self-expression in her music and mixing. Adding “Mz” to her name, she marks a new era in her career, connecting with her music and audience like never before.

Originally inspired by the American rave scene, she found her base in San Francisco, where she co-founded Dirtybird with Claude VonStroke and Justin and Christian Martin. Her breakout track “Irst Te” on Dirtybird in 2007 was followed by hits like “Shy Look” (2012), “Tric Trac” with Eats Everything (2011), and “Dip” (2013).

Mz Worthy’s debut album Disbehave (2014) on her label Anabatic Records pushed House boundaries and received critical acclaim. The follow-up remix album included contributions from Will Clarke, Walker & Royce, and Yolanda Be Cool, among others. She has since released on top labels like Defected, Exploited, Insomniac, and Toolroom.

A festival regular, Mz Worthy has performed at Coachella, Dirtybird Campout, Burning Man, and Ultra, creating energetic, inclusive dance floors that celebrate authenticity. Openly sharing her trans experience, she’s a beacon for LGBTQ artists, reintroducing herself to the scene with passion and purpose.

Next up in our special seven day BCCO x HE.SHE.THEY. takeover to celebrate Trans Awareness Week is Bimini from London, UK.

Bimini, born and raised in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, built a successful career as a DJ and club host in London before expanding to New York. In 2019, they were crowned Miss Sink The Pink and have since performed at major events like Mighty Hoopla and Brighton Pride.

Bimini rose to stardom in January 2021 on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, quickly becoming a fan favourite and gaining over 945,000 Instagram followers. This led to high-profile campaigns with Selfridges, Calvin Klein, and Maison Margiela, as well as features in British Vogue, Dazed, ES Magazine, W, and The Face. They also appeared in Ava Max’s “My Head & My Heart” video, Little Mix’s “Confetti,” and a collaboration with Oliver Sim from The XX.

In June 2021, Bimini released their debut single, God Save This Queen, with airplay on BBC Radio 1, Radio 2, and BBC Radio 6 and over 463,000 views on YouTube. Their first book, A Drag Queen’s Guide to Life, debuted in October 2022 to critical acclaim, reaching the Sunday Times Top 10 bestsellers list.

In January 2022, Bimini returned to the studio, collaborating with Redshank, Benji Gibson, and Joy Anonymous, leading to a worldwide recording deal with Relentless, Sony Music.
