The remix of Colou Befu is very original, respecting the main sound codes, we are in the presence of a great reinterpretation. Keeping the bass line and modulating it to its shape, brings us a Melody and unique arpeggios very well pasted. A compact structure It makes the remix a great complement to the release, leading us to a Eternal journey within sound and with an intellectual concept and spiritual basis As usual in La Cura de la Semana. The release belongs to two DJs and producers from Argentina, Rosario where they have An excellent activity. ALMA distinguishes itself very well by the versatility of its blends
In addition to publishing his music on different record labels, while Colou is A&R from the MF Gustafsson label and has also released his music on several labels. Sound Avenue opens 2022's second quarter with a new single from label boss https://soundcloud.com/madloch and frequent studio partner https://soundcloud.com/subnode. Now approaching four years in their creative partnership, the Belgian duo had a noteworthy 2021, releasing two well-received singles across the year. September saw Madloch and Subnode deliver their 'A Short Moment' to commemorate Another Life Music's one hundredth release. Backed by remixes from Petar Dundov and Zoi (CA), it was quickly followed by what was arguably the duo's most enigmatic work to date in 'Utopia'. Landing in October amidst support from Eelke Kleijn, Laurent Garnier and Nick Warren, the sleek yet powerful creation received remixes from iconic duo Hernan Cattaneo and Soundexile, along with rising Aussie talent Microlot. Now, presenting their first project of 2022, Madloch and Subnode return to Sound Avenue with the much anticipated 'Bariloche', alongside remixes from Jean Caillou and Fabian Balino.

The release concludes with Fabian Balino returning to the label and providing the second and final interpretation of 'Bariloche'. Born in New York but raised in Uruguay, Fabian Balino is no stranger to the Sound Avenue label family, having released five originals and a remix since his debut via 2021's 'Correlation' Vol. 4 collection. Also, an accomplished DJ, the New York resident has taken his groovy sound to the city's nightlife, performing at PHD Dream Downtown, XVI Rooftop and 1Oak, where he supported international star Felix Da Housecat. Continuing to build a bond with Sound Avenue, Fabian now returns to the label with a groovy take on 'Bariloche'. Tempo and drive come up a touch as the piece takes shape, with siren-like tones and wavering sonics creating an air of anticipation. More enthralling yet is a heartfelt harmonic wave, gently rising as percussion flickers off in the distance, with the second of two breaks drawing closer. Tranquil tones and dulcet chord stabs intertwine as the interlude evolves, eventually reaching an understanded apex and soaring, key changing finale. A sensational interpretation from Fabian, making for a successful Sound Avenue return for himself, Jean Caillou, Madloch and Subnode.

Dust off a wine glass or three; today we raise a toast to one of the most dedicated house music institutions — Smallville Records. Ten years is a ruddy good time in this part of town, and establishing such a loveable brand takes some doing. Yet, with misty-eyed house at its core, the record store-cum-label has confidently strutted towards the big ten. To celebrate, the Hamburg fam are dispensing the third and fourth part of the Ways Series — entitled Smallville Ways — with a two four-track 12" and an 11-track CD. 

Naturally, the roll-call reels off like a FIFA dream team equivalent: STL, Christopher Rau, Moomin, L'Amour Fou (Move D with Benoit Bouquin (BB) and Marco Wollenberg), Smallpeople, Juniper, Jacques Bon, Lawrence, Rvds & Rau, and Tilman Tausendfreund.

Kornél Kovács' offering carves the deepest incision though. Remodelling a D'Angelo Rhodes piano sample into a diet version of itself, "Space Jam" is as airy and uncluttered as we've come to expect. Here's to another decade then, ayy.
